Decided to update my scratch built MG-34

Recommended Posts

A couple of years ago i built my scratch built MG-34. Since then, I have not had time to mess around with the hobby. But, to get ready for C5, I decided to update the barrel section. Whatcha think?

Here is a comparison of my old and new barrel:

I don't have any yet, and I'm not quite at the stage I'll need some at the moment. Here are a couple sources to check out. You could also post a query in the FISD forum.

That first link might be worth checking out as a good option for non-rubber t-tracks. (Interesting note: apparently the screen-used versions had plastic t-tracks, not rubber.) I'm not sure what the current supply status is for that second link. You might have to give him a holler and see what he says. I keep thinking I saw another source for rubber t-tracks somewhere, but these should give you a good launching point.

Hope that helps.

Looks great!

For rubber T-Tracks, use this link: http://www.blast-tech.com/products_rubberStrip.asp

I got mine from this site and I love them. Came fast, and you can order in pre-cut sets or by the foot. Comes with a concave bottom to attach to the barrel and already has 3M adhesive strips attached.

I used them on my E-11.
