iconoclasta_88
Thanks for the kind replys bro´s. Yeah now to the fun part, the dirty job Yep i did use the Mike A paint stickers, for the tube stripes. And they worked perfect! I just add them on, and gave them two layers... First give it a thin layer, let it dry, and then one more to make the blue color right. If you just paint too much, on just one layer... you might destroy the stripes, and the too much paint will go under the strips, and make them unsteady when you take the sticker off. So just give it two layers, no heavy layers, and they will be steady. Sylvester are all over the suit, when i worked on the helmet... Mostly when he sleeps, but i did a little one while i have some family visit. He took it out of my hands a few times, and try it on, whit a big smile in there looking out. What can i say... my boy, all ready a TD fan Troop on THX man! I will follow your advice! SAludos
iconoclasta_88
Hi bro´s, small update I have try to trim some of the parts more ANH accurate. Here i have trim the chest in a more pointy in the top, like seen in ANH: Then i have cut the top left leg pointy down in the top, like seen in ANH: So, Rolf.... Did you give the parts you modify a return edge or just cut the extra part off and thats it? I would love to do something like that to my armor, specially the chest and thigh mods (already did the arms thing). But I love too much the return edge of my TE2 armor... I know Terry suggested to use a heat sealing iron, and somewhere else I read about modeling irons for model plane wings... Are you doing any of that? I will go and post on Terry's thread too, but having both points of view would be awesome. Thx bro. Saludos
Rolf
That's so cool Rolf. I just started my TE2 suit as well....love the armor, I never knew what I was missing Welcome on board bro The TE2 is one of the best suits in the world, if you ask me. I only have two favorites suits: TE2 and TM. Next up the mighty AP. (TE, GINO as well on the top list, if you can find one somewhere, as they are very rare, and do not make runs)
Rolf
Absolutely amazing suit Rolf! You are most definetely a Master Armor Builder! I'm in the middle of my "AM" build. I can only hope it turns out half as nice as your TE2. Sylvester looks like an amazing little man. You should be proud. Thanks for the back up bro. I have seen your creative skills, and they are a clean A+. You got some good hands there, so i´m sure your suit will turn out top nice. I do not know the AM suit that good, but it looks way better then the old FX. Some parts looks more AP now here and there, and the helmet is a bit upgrade for sure. I have seen Terry´s AM suit on FISD, and look pretty **** cool i must say. So i´m sure yours will rock too bro. Pics pics asap
Rolf
So, Rolf.... Did you give the parts you modify a return edge or just cut the extra part off and thats it? I did try to put some cloth over the part area, and used a hot iron trying to form a edge. But the chest, and leg are very thick where i have made the modify cut. So nothing happen there. But they plastic are so thick there, so after the sandpaper job. There are a small round edge to it any way. I think i will let it be as it is now, maybe i could try to force a bigger edge. But at the same time, forcing a bigger edge, i might loose my modify shape to it (getting smaller, deform), and i don´t want that. TD high five from here
Rolf
Small update. I decide to give the hot iron a second try, getting a "edge" to the modify parts. and it worked out perfect... i think. Here you go: Next up, i will show you a few more things i have done on the armor. Here you can see, i have cut off the edge on the 3 dots add on the belt (just like the screen used). That make the belt look longer, and more movie accurate: I add a extra hips strap where i add the rivets, to make the armor more solid and strong (and not crack of, adding the rivets): I also add extra plastic inside the helmet, on the face plate. The end left and right are very thin, plus the ends of the tube. So the plastic easy crack up, whit adding the screws. I like to have a strong helmet, where i can add the screws strong and solid. It also makes the helmet more heavy, and strong to hold and wear. Plus i also think it helps the ear caps, be add on better in the right angle. Because it the plastic are thin there, the ear caps can twist a little going in. Here you go: I gave the edge of the mic tips a light sandpaper job, to get some of the black of, just like many of the screen used helmets: Last up... i hate when the small belt box, jump up and down. We all know, there have to be a small vision of the legs assemble point. And we all like the belt staying right there for ever, but when we see pictures of our self. The belt all ways go to high up, and cover the assemble point. If you look close, i have add on E6000 glue left and right where it touch the leg. Now it stays there for good, it the right angle all ways: Move a long... move a long...
Quartermaster
Looks amazing Rolf! I did the same thing with my AM build. Added extra strips to the thinner areas before rivets and glue to make it stronger. The armor is really coming together beatifully. How did you do the Hot Iron for the edges? Can you post some pics of it? I have some edges I would like to do that to as well.
Rolf
Thanks John. It was my first time doing it, so i got no big tricks. I just took a towel (white, and plain, no pattern). I just flip it over where i want the edge, move the hot iron over it in some round circles. I could see the towel getting a bit darker/wet a like, and feel the plastic getting warm and bend a like. I just took away the iron, and bend the edge while it was hot. I dry up/got cold in a few seconds. Then i just gave it a quick light sandpaper job, and it was there

Rolf
just awesome rolf!! nice ideas as always. you will inspire many of us for sure!! Thanks bro Hope you like this one then. 1. I have modify the string over the ab belly box longer, and fade out more accurate. 2. I have add a dot in the ab. 3. I have made a stripe going down in the 3 dot belly area. 1. I heat it up from the inside, and press the area down where the string stop, and let it fade out. 2. I heat it up from the out side, and press a metal string down over it, while it was hot, and the cloth still was over the area. 3. I used a small metal round circle, from the te2 kit (pics add). Here you go: (the 3 dot is not glued on yet, just there whit tape, if it looks not closed up good to the surface yet) Heres a pic of the rivets i used, and the round circle i press on getting the dot in the ab heat up: Now there are only 3 other mistakes on the suit, to make it super duper hard core movie accurate. But i´m not sure i will, or can do them. 1. Take away the drop in the right bicep, so its plain. 2. Take the trumpet of on the right shoulder, so it go straight down. 3. I can do nothing here, the right arm have 11 holes, where there should be 12. Peace out bro´s

Saludos Thanks for the shoulder clap bro I like the modify as well, but i think i will use the TM 3 dot. Because i´m not 100% happy whit the going down stripe, and the TE/TE2 4 TK dot/cut down to a 3 dot... looks a bit too small maybe, so i think i will add the TM 3 dot again there. I don´t think i will modify the one shoulder, and bicep. Might mesh them up... Move a long... move a long...
