Rolf
Hi gang. I will soon, paint some tube stripes. But what shall i go for... The Humbrol # 15 or the # 48. (only for the stunt helmets) Here it look to be # 15. But here the same helmet, looks # 48 to me. Here is one more, looks like # 48 again. This one, more # 15 a like. One more question: On the ab plate for the TK´s, they use the grey # 5 humbrol. And the blue is # 15 right. Cheers
MandalorianWarrior87
I bought #14 for mine. Still not got around to painting them on yet though, lol.
dutchy
The 48 seems to be the one, but the 15 is also an option. My guess is that or they used both colours or only the 15 and that it faded out a bit due to the wear and influence of sunlight/ weather.... Rolf
According to this site, it should be both the #15 and 48 we see in ANH. http://www.tonybarnett.plus.com/anhref.html
nice-biscuit
The problem is the batches seem to vary. The grey seems lighter now than before, so I may darken the 5. The original helmets have yellowed over time so this will effect the blue making it more green. I am personally rethinking the blue and may try and match according to the film reference rather than Humbrol stock colours.

I think i will stay whit #48. I seems like, most of the TD stunts was 48. And most of the TK Hero helmets, was #15. Cheers
Rolf
We know, that Humbrol have only made to up to # 50 in 1976. I paint my TE2 whit # 14. I just saw over at FISD, that some also think its # 14 there was also used in ANH. In a way i think # 14 is the best one. # 48 looks too light, and # 15 too dark. (i think some of them was # 15, but mostly the TK hero helmet´s. But # 15 looks all most black, so i like # 14 better) Here a picture of my TE2, whit # 14 tube stripes painted on. Cheers . Scootch
I have a suggestion Rolf........................just get a couple more sets of armor and helmets and paint one set with 15, and the other with 48. Then send them to me so I may inspect them.

Rolf
Ha ha good one. I wait, for some new DL TK/TD helmets. I might paint them #14, 15, 48 . Another question: I think i will paint the blue ab in the same #, as used on the helmet so they match as a suit. Would that be great, or shall "we" keep it # 15 at all times on the ab plates for the ANH TK´s. (sorry wrong crowd ).
