He didn't get my vote....

I will only accept Obama if he ACTUALLY does help this country more than hurt it.

The way his policies are written right now I know 4 small buisnesses will be lost in my town and some of my relatives who own one of them won't be able to pay the taxes Obama is proposing and would have to let workers go.

Plus living in a blue state of Illinois as a Republican, yesterday i said some thing about McCains run for President in a public place and I was verbally abused.

I am sick of hearing Dems bash McCain and Bush!!!!!

Not everything that happened with the economy was Bush's fault, plenty of Democrats had thier hand in it's downfall but you won't hear about that.

All I can say is let the peace be re-established and Obama work BOTH sides of the isle and not be a jerk and not just stick to his own party.

Agreed.

I'll continue to keep this topic open, as long as we remain civil. I realize that virtually none of the other prop boards we post on allow political discussions, so I'm willing to open this topic up a little.

But please, there's no need to resort to the same rhetoric we've all heard 24/7 for the past year. I for one, am thankful the constant political commercials are now gone and we can focus on other things.

Until he takes office, everything is speculative - regardless of who won.

I too am glad the commercials are gone...every five minutes we were being hit with one or the other and after a while it was just too much information in a 2 1/2 minute spots between shows. It began to be like two kids fighting over a toy that each wanted and the fight was just escalating to noise....

And your right, everything is speculative....regardless of who won.

I didn't vote for him either, but I truly hope he can do a great job. I'm sure he is a great man, I just don't agree on his issue stances. That being said, I think having him in office alone could do wonders for race relations in the U.S. I would love to see that.

While yes, the economy is something we have to face and something that people kept telling me to focus on when I showed my support for McCain, time has shown us that with Dems a couple of things tend to happen that effect me or my family. 1) Second Amendment rights get played with, I have been a responsible gun owner since I was taught how to shoot at the age of 11, Dems and guns tend to not mix, so I will be interested to see what plays out there. The other thing is 2) Dems usually tend to free up money by cutting back our Military = Not Good in my book. While I agree with the majority at times that our Military Forces get involved with some things that should be given some time for resolve to take place, I believe that cutting back our Military, be it pay, personnel, or bases is not a good thing at all, especially in this day and age where terror threats still remain. I also have friends and family in Iraq or that have been to Iraq, and what is not seen in the media is the progress that is being made there, and there is progress being made. I'm afraid that if a time frame is given for our Troops to be removed before the mission is done, that place may turn back in to a hot bed of problems for years to come and all the work that my friends and family have contributed there and I have lost some of them there, will be all for nothing.

I hope I am proven wrong and I want to believe that change can happen, but I still have more confidence in someone that has at least been in our military to be the leader of our troops than someone who has led a community.

I can only hope for the best from here out . . .

Goes double for me.. and regarding the tax thing....yes I will close down my business and sell off the assets. There's already too much being taken out of my earnings as it is, I will not work with a glad heart knowing some loser with zero ambition is going shopping in the mall on my sweat.

Regarding socialised health care....well we know people from countries WITH National Health Care who work in the medical field and guess where they choose to work??? USA. Why? For the $$$ and the benefiets of course. Bottom line....pay for health insurance and use it as needed. Anything socialised is "No Bueno".

I think it's not valid to generalize that all Democrats oppose these things. There are lots of Democrats that have served in the military (and do today) and who are strong proponents of 2nd amendment rights.

I think this thread is getting too political, IMHO.

yeah, I thought I'd give it a shot but these issues will continue to polarize folks and create unneeded tension in the forums. As always, if anyone needs to voice some concern, feel free to PM either myself or Paul.

Move along...
