slave1pilot
now that all the Acronyms are out of the way here's my Bucket progress As I got it (next to the nasty ol FX) Then after removing the brow, fixing the Frown, replacing the ears & some White paint Then after the grey areas , the outlining of the grey areas , the teeth & the Vocoder painting (all done by hand) and a close-up to show how bad the hand painting actually is I'm pretty happy with it so far I'll post more pics after the tube stripes (decals this time) and the brow trim are added
TD-1536
Looks good! I hope these helmets continue to be made available in some way, they're such an affordable trooping option.
theGreatSot
That looks great Nathan! Probably the best MR CE that I've seen! What will you be using for the brow trim?
slave1pilot
That looks great Nathan! Probably the best MR CE that I've seen! What will you be using for the brow trim?Thanx a bunch Since the original trim was destroyed during removal, I'll be replacing it I have a strip of accurate trim somewhere in my garage that I go a few years back I haven't been able to find it in all the boxes of crap I've collected I'll keep searching. I will be putting accurate Hovi tips on too are they gloss or semi gloss? anyone know?
missingpieces
dont forget to highbrow that sucker, makes all the difference on the MRCE...well the ears too! I hope these helmets continue to be made available in some way, they're such an affordable trooping option. not to mention waaaaaay better than an FX
slave1pilot
I did raise it some Just didn't wanna do that "Move-Along" trooper look
missingpieces
lol. no need to go too far, but raise it enough so you can see the tops of the eyes. which, for whatever reason makes the MRCE look way more correct than it does witht the hero style brow. slave1pilot
hmmm.... I found the brow trim & temporarily attached it 9needs to be cut to length still) I Photoshopped the lenses too Is the brow high enuff? I'm unsure now
Scootch
It looks GREAT from here bro! Course I'm a big fan of that brow trim style you're sportin' there. Also the hand painted job looks superb to my eyes since I like it way more than decals! Nice work Nate! Definately shaping up to be one of the better CE's I've seen done. TD2802
Nice work! - I kinda like how you got the brow trim but if you're basing it on the screencap, then you may need to lower it a little.
dutchy
Great result there Nathan The brow could as mentioned above be lowered slightly to get the right/ movie accurate look. But it is looking killer already.. Again great job!

TK-743
The helmet looks awesome! I have been thinking of getting one of those CE helmets to mod myself. What kind of paints did you use, how many coats etc? Also, what did you fill in the front seam with? Thanks, any help would be appreciated. It's well worth the mod I Used Krylon Rattle-can Gloss white (Probably 3-4 coats) Testors 1138 Grey for the Trapezoids and Testors gloss black to outline them I used Evercoat (bondo) on the seams Here's the helmet after all the weathering & stuff was done;
