SethB6025
If anyone ever IDs this part they should get a freaking medal.
RoCKo
yeah, for sure! those cylinders were one of the most wanted parts on various propsites a couple of years ago and still consistently discussed...
jedi5150
I've been eyeballing those things for years... I'd swear they've got to be a type of wirewound or ceramic resistor. On the mouse droid, the larger, shorter cylinders look like vacuum tube sockets. That's where the vacuum tubes (glass parts) would have been removed from. Grasping at what I remember of my analog/amplifier electronics training, it makes sense that there'd be a resistor alongside each tube. Here are a couple example pics of similar-looking resistors:
RoCKo
nice find! not the right ones yet, but this could be very close...

SethB6025
Wowzers. That makes me want to do a MSE again. I lost steam on it last time. :/
Tyranus
Luke, do you have an email address for mon cal? I'd love to get some info from him regarding the parts shown. Thanks!
Scootch
You know they almost look like the ceramic "guides" that were used for old school "Knob and Tube" wiring through top plate in walls back in Grandpappy's time. Almost like they were chopped in half and glued onto the mag.

TK Bondservnt
the schematic drawing is the source for these parts, they come from the amplifier circuit where you'd have vacuum tubes, and the inner part is the capacitor to channel the voltage. there has been some discussion at the FISD on this subject, and the method for making your own is pretty clearly detailed.
