Mike or anyone who has completed their pack, how have you attached your intake manifold/bellows part to the main box?

mine doesn't sit flush with the box due to the bottom bar of the frame but i don't want to hack the frame up any more as it's only jutting out a wee bit.

i was thinking about bolting the top part of the manifold (the twinky[?]) to the bottom of the top main box (if you get my meaning)

i'm just concerned about this bit as it seems the most fragile and has no real solid contact with main boxes

Any thoughts?

i've only gone and put it all together without putting a bolt in first. can't see how i'm going to be able to to use a bolt on the scoop as its enclosed now. . maybe i'll try the keyhole method and slide it on to the bolt and secure with glue.

i found a good method for fitting the beestinger so that it pivots though. Assuming people have gone for using the pitcher lid as a top and they have two bars on the bottom of the pack i just drilled a hole in the lid topper (the bit that had the little plastic plunger) and also drilled a hole in the smaller bar on the frame and zip tied it together, it pivots the beestinger enough to stop it being a nuisance.will post a picture later when i have time.

The Bee-stinger attachment method sounds similar to what I did on my first prototype pack, works fine.

And yes, you can still cut key holes, slide in the bolt and fill the hole with glue/epoxy/chewing gum, whatever works.

That's strange..when I open it it works like a dream, but porn is good fun too

Thanks for the heads up. I just re-uploaded the page.

My F'ing web host's server got hacked and infected hundreds of web sites. They claim to have fixed it on their end, but I'm constantly having to over-wright html files with known-good ones from my computer.

Great idea... one could put a whole bar inside. You know what, I am going to do this...

So, I need to put some expando-straps as bottle and accessory holders. If I made one, mine would have some Grey-Goose or Kettle One Vodka, Glenlivet (the Official Scotch of the Clone-Empire Command Staff), some Bombay Sapphire Gin, Club Soda, Tonic Water, Cranberry Juice, a shaker and strainer, and some glasses.

OH YEAH!

Good thing my pack is not sealed! I can just hinge the top, and use super magnets at the bottom! Oh, the radio could hold some shiz-nit too!

Stay Tuned! HAHAHA!!!

I hinged the top two trays on my first prototype pack, and it worked great. A bunch of guys saw it at Shoreleave back in July. there will be a small gap, but it's no big deal.

Many of the tutorials and finished packs that I have seen don't show the pack being worn, so I took a boatload of pictures of Mike's backpack while at FarPoint 2009. The gallery with detailed descriptions can be found here:

Enjoy!

TK1536.com seems to be missing from his place on the web. So I have posted a copy of the MH Backpack Tutorial here:

yeah, the silly domain host won't allow CNAME changes once you drop their domain hosting package (which I did). The web site still exists here: http://web.mac.com/mikeharrison

I just need to figure out how to get another company to register my domain so I can change the cname or URL re-direct.
