Finally upgrading from my FX suit

It's been a long time coming, but it's finally time for me to replace my old FX suit with a new suit from MTK.

Started with the helmet, there are some gaps in the ears but I don't think it's anything unreasonable

Nice work mate!

And keep in mind that gaps are accurate, so you are off to a great start!

Just look at some sreencaps and reference images, there are plenty to be found on the MEPD's various pages.

Gotta question about the arms. I'm not going for SWAT/Deployed but I'm trying to build close to those requirements.
I cut the arms straight and they are pretty big at the wrist.
Wondering if I should redo them to be at more of an angle or if I should keep them as is and just put some foam in them?

Been working on the armor and I've run into one area that I need some advice or assistance with.

The shins have a molded section on the back and I'm not sure if it needs to be cut off or if it's acceptable as is.

This is with them taped to size and where I'd most likely put the cover strip

Hey, that's already looking very promising!

I bet you can't await to weather your gear. :D

But in addition to what bigwam has already mentioned, keep in mind that especially the large space between the kidney and backplate might hinder your basic approval. You definitely have to connect those two parts, either using the screen-accurate brackets- or much more practical popper-method.

Cheers mate.

I appreciate the feedback everyone.
I'm already working on fixing the shin.

I do have a strap running from the back plate to the kidney plate, I guess I can try to shorten it

I have three straps connecting the backplate and the kidney. You might also want to adjust the shoulder straps, in your case, use longer straps to allow the backplate to move down a little bit.
