SammiLee
So I started this journey in hopes of building a TK from Walt's. I was given the option to switch to a TD and the idea sparked a new sense of excitement!! Here are pics of the progress thus far of the TK. I welcome any and all advice and opinions! What is everyone's opinion on weathering? Looking for one of the easier options. Which acrylic colors, fuller's earth? http://imgur.com/gallery/xOxTFUm http://imgur.com/gallery/vFmhVt7 http://imgur.com/gallery/Nh1RXJc http://imgur.com/gallery/xOxTFUm http://imgur.com/gallery/fD94c7n http://imgur.com/gallery/S0wJYxr http://imgur.com/gallery/LgylbKx

SammiLee
Ive been working a little each evening on my TD. My helmet is complete minus the tube stripes, and I have begun the first steps of weathering on it! http://imgur.com/gallery/73Tgy5N
bigwam
I would paint the tubestripes first. Are your trapezoids not hand painted yet? Is it possible to find a link that shows the pictures directly? That makes it a little easier.
Hausi
Hey mate, have a look at this thread, it should help you to post the pictures here directly, so we can see them: I think you are on a good way as your weathering is concerned but just as Bigwam has pointed out, I would highly recommend painting the tubestripes first before weathering the helmet. Your trapezoids should be handpainted and extend a little further: just as you can see with the original helmets: I also think that the brow is sitting too low, most Sandtroopers had a rather high brow and a somehow surprised look

I did the tube stripes this evening and am going to hand paint the trapezoids above the brow as well. I also fixed the brow so it is not as low as it was. Thank you for your suggestions!!! SammiLee
Quick update...helmet and forearms are done. Biceps/shoulder bells are done minus the straps. Chest and back plate are connected. Tomorrow I will hopefully finish at least one of my thigh shims. I will likely post progress pics tomorrow as long as Imgur cooperates!
