Hi Andi

Thank you for your interest in joining the elite and submitting your request for SWAT OFFICER activation.

It really looks like you have put a lot of time and effort in getting your chosen trooper as screenaccurate as possible and I really like your attention to detail.

What I don´t like is Photobucket putting all their labels right in the middle of your pics, that is distracting and I might possibly ask for some detail shots.

Your gear is on spot and your emulated trooper is immediately recognizable. But each new SWAT candidate gets looked at even more so from the prvious trooper and the bar gets raised even higher.

You are definitely on the right track.

Still we always emphasize patience during this process as we pay more and more attention  to fine tuning with each new SWAT applicant.

The MEPD Senior staff members and myself will give your armor a full inspection and review.

Some details may definitely be missed and re-checked, but we will try to catch them on every pass given until you are cleared and ready to join the Special Weapons & Tactics Team, mate!

I have started the review process, so hang in there!:salute:

Thank you Hausi for the info. yes that with Photobucket annoys me huge. Have tried it at picload because all pictures are upside down and I can not change them. I load all the pictures right up and they are simply rotated by Picload.

Then let´s get this started…

MEPD SWAT OFFICER: application review part 1

Name: Andreas Koch

Legion ID#0: TD-29185

Forum Name: Andi85

Garrison: German Garrison

ANH Sandtrooper selected: Docking Bay 94 Captain V2 (Tuck and Roll)

Helmet:

Green lenses: check

Paint color on traps / tears: check

Paint color and number of teeth: check

Mic Tips: check

Vocoder color: check

Rank bar: check

Brow: check

Side Screws (ears): check

Weathering: check

**Additional Comments**

Andi, nice helmet and it would be good to go but I think that it is sitting too high on your head, it should sit lower. If possible, remove some of the padding inside the helmet to make it look more like what we see on screen.

**Result on Helmet**

Stand By

Armor / Suit Details:

Canvas straps shoulder: check

Neck Seal: check

Black Undersuit: check

Shoulder Bells: check

Biceps: check

Forearms: check

Pauldron: see comments

Chest / Back Plate: see comments

Kidney / Butt plate: check

Ab plate / Side Rivets / Cod: check

Strapping: check

Tighs: check

Shins / Calves: check

Sniper Plate: check

Gloves: check

Hand plates / Guards: check

Ammo Belt (waist) w/ correct angled edge: check

Ammo Belt (right knee): check

Canvas Belt: check

Pouches: see comments

Weathering: The weathering looks really good and matches the emulated trooper quite closely. However, there are certain details that are missing and others will have to be changed. I would also recommend adding another wash with some watered-down black first and then another layer of watered-down earth-colored paint.

Especially the detail in the middle of the chest needs more black, here are a few pictures.

45736704014_5879260953_b.jpg

same armor, just at an earlier moment of filming in Tunisia, maybe a tad bit dirtier because of that:

same armor again, just under different lighting conditions:

**Additional Comments**

Front:

32587521178_7ea9b42074_b.jpg

1. Already mentioned above in the helmet review.
2. Please remove the snap, there is no snap visible on the original Pauldron strap.
3. There should be slightly more dirt.
4. This one line is too long.

5. On the V1 the ammobelt seems to be extremely twisted to one side but as you aren´t emulating the version 1 and this specific detail isn´t visible on your V2, your belt is okay.

Back:

31520369427_6e2910c1ff_b.jpg

1. Helmet too high. Moreover your pauldron is sitting too high as well, it should also be moved down. As it seems, you are a big guy but there shouldn´t be any neckseal visible. My recommendation is to shorten the shoulder elastics to move up the whole torso while at the same time widening/enlarging the pauldron around the neck.
2. Please remove the snap.
3. These two spots are missing or aren´t pronounced enough.
4. There should be more dirt in this area and the shape should also be closer to the original.
5. The canvas belt seems to be closed at this point in the original, it´s okay if you just emulate it with weathering on your belt,

Boots:

46460218691_c8d01c5f8b_b.jpg

The paint cracks on your boots are too large, I´m afraid you will have to repaint your boots.

Pauldron:

45547417645_43aa0e6623_b.jpg

The coffee/ sticker residue spot should just be so slightly more solid around the edge while the black color fades away in the middle. Be careful, don´t add too much black color to the edge, I have exaggerated the colour a little bit to emphasize what I´m talking about. Here´s the original:

45547451645_10c57524bf_b.jpg

Right thigh & small Spanish pouch

Please add this “line” and move the small Spanish pouch back a little further.

BACKPACK

No backpack required

WEAPON: T-21

Details: see comments

Weathering: see comments

**Additional Comments**

The front of the strap should be rotated, have a look at my grainy picture.

Here´s a behind-the-scenes pic:

45547492355_de11d3aa8a_b.jpg

Your weapon looks too factory-fresh, give it a worn look, maybe use some drybrushing and finally give it a wash with some sandy colour.

So this was your first review Andi, there are quite some changes but SWAT is a challenging but finally rewarding process and I am absolutely certain that you will successfully overcome these challenges, I have already appreciated your enthusiasm and your can-do-attitude when applying for PO so keep up the good work… As I know you, you will have done those changes in no time.

Cheers mate!

Some swift and proper work, nicely done, as usual. However I am still not completely happy with some of the details.

Front:

Here is a comparison to M4vrick´s chest weathering, which is the benchmark at the moment and I can see that you have been working with this too when looking at your weathering closely.

45774208274_b45fdbbb11_b.jpg

This picture highlights the details that have to be improved:

32624909328_98514eca5c_b.jpg

1. This line is still too solid, try to lighten it up slightly

2. The so-called "skull-mark" - As I think it doesn´t look like a skull at all but rather like a sad face, I´ll call it the no-more-beer-in-the-fridge-face ;) Try to get it closer to what M4vrick´s mark looks like. Furthermore don´t forget the nose.

3. This area also still looks too solid.

Back:

46446275132_dacbe58988_b.jpg

You have taken care of all the areas that needed improvement but I think the position of these two spots should be moved to the area in the green circle.

You have also added the horizontal line on the right thigh and I can see what you were going for with the two line as it seems that there is another line above the first one, good eye. Anyhow, I think that these lines also look too solid an a bit too long in your second attempt:

This was your second review Andi, there are still some changes but they are getting fewer and fewer. Not so much left to do although getting the weathering right can be one of the trickiest bits, at least it gave me a headache.

I am looking forward to seeing your newest improvements and seeing your activation as a SWAT officer!

Go for it mate!

Hi Hausi :)

Thank you for your feedback, yes with the weathering is really such a thing in itself. Depending on the light and the photo, it always looks different. And first of all you do it as you see it yourself .
I have now reworked the cheest armor and the other points as well.

best regards Andi :salute:

happy and healthy New Year,
I looked at my Cheestarmor very closely and I still was not satisfied with the result. I have completely reworked it again today.

I am now very satisfied with the supplement below a few photos with details

Andi, you have done an amazing job with your new chest weathering, the only area for improvement I can still see is here:

32850602618_3d3a82b68a_b.jpg

1: I think there are some small spots missing here.

2: I can see what you are going for with these spots and the shape looks good but I think they look too solid on their own, so my suggestion is to add another thin layer of dirt to it by adding another wash with watered down black or earth or a mixture of the two colours.

Have to admit that I liked it better before you did the newest changes, these two blots are too prominent:

and the rest... while looking at it, I suddenly felt it reminded me of something from my youth:sweat:: the Wu Tang Symbol:
