Markus ' tiny ' Zeitvogel
Looking good to me,the cable on the backpack doesn't match. Can you turn it to the other side so the cable and hole in the box is hidden? The soles of your shoes looks a bit thick. Do you have a close up picture of your tubestripes? Are there a strapping from the backplate to the chest at the sides? Your weathering is awesome and the Armour fits perfectly
Hoda
Thank you, Markus! I have updated the pictures in the original post with close-up of the tube stripes and new backpack pictures per your recommendation. Cable was for sound system I'm playing around with. Didn't take new pictures of me wearing the updated pack - my wife might kick me out of the house if I ask her to take more pictures so soon! I do have strapping on the side from the backplate to the chest (had that before I moved over to the current bracket + strapping system) - should I remove? Here's another picture of the shoes from the side - what do you think?
Hausi
Hi Eric, welcome and thank you for your interest in becoming an MEPD deployed officer! Man you are one dirty trooper, I like it! I am sorry that the forum security software won´t let you write your last name. Thanks for your tidy application, I have (almost) all the pictures I need. So let´s get your review started mate. Application Review: Part 1 Name: Eric H o Legion ID: TD-77520 Forum Name: Hoda Garrison: Star Garrison Helmet a. Green lenses: check b. Paint color of traps / tears: check c. The issue with the shoes addressed by Tiny seems to be part of the lighting playing tricks on our eyes and making it look like you are wearing some plateau soles. I do have to admit that the soles look quite thick but going through my reference pics I think that they used different shoes on set in Tunisia and Elstree Studios, thinner soles in Tunisia and thicker soles in London. To me it seems that the screws in the bottom return edge of your chest are a little too far apart but I´m going to let this pass. Shoulderstraps: please dirty them up, they seem to be completely white and form a stark contrast to the rest of your pretty dirty armor. Codpiece: instead of a snap, you use a rivet here: Knee ammo belt: the shape seems to be wrong, there shouldn´t be a curved shape at the top where the rivet is but a clean 90 degree angle: RESULT ON ARMOR pending Backpack a. details: see comments b. weathering: check *additional comments* A very cool pack! But as was pointed out before, the Tupperware Stow n Go box looks strange with that cable (just being curious: what kind of electronics do you have in there?) so please turn it around so it is less visible. I don´t like the bottle so much that is supposed to look like the Gio´Style bottle. As it isn´t that hard to find a better replacement and there is even someone who offers them on the forum, I would suggest getting a new one. But this is just a recommendation, the present one will work for PO. RESULT ON BACKPACK pending Weapon a. details: see comments b. weathering: see comments *additional comments* Seriously mate? No weapon??? Get a weapon quickly the Jawas are after you... to sell you one! RESULT ON WEAPONS pending Eric, this was your first review! Keep up the good work, those are some easy changes… and for god´s sake, get a weapon! I´m looking forward to seeing some new pics of your improved gear soon. Hoda
Hausi - thanks so much for the quick review! Looks like we posted updates at the same time. I will fix the ammo belt / cod piece this weekend. Thank you for the pointer re: the bottle, I will order and replace. The cabling was for a sound system I am playing with. Here are some new photos of the straps - I noticed the white this morning as well. I dirtied it up a bit just now and will spray with some tea this weekend so the strap looks more yellow/dirty. As for the weapon - the Jawas must've stolen them when I was taking these photos! Here's the DLT-19 (Hyperfirm) I usually troop with. Looking at the previous PO postings, I think I need to add wires to the t-tracks. Is there something else I need to do to bring it up to spec? Lastly - I do have another pair of boots I use that has thinner soles - can replace if we have issues with this pair!
Hausi
Hey Eric, all is fine with your boots, no need to replace them. As far as the DLT is concerned, you are right, you will need the wire around the T-tracks. Everything else on that blaster is good to go. Man, am I glad to see that you are armed! So I´ll be waiting for you to finish the rest. Cheers mate
Hoda
As it turns out, I had some time tonight to make the fixes! I am including all the new updated photos in this post here. Also, placed an order for a new bottle for the backpack - will replace that when it comes in :). Still need to make sure the weathering is uniform, so going to continue to work on that. Helmet Tube Stripes (Close-up): Shoulder Elastic Straps (Made to be dirtier, yellowed strap with tea): Cod Rivet (Replaced snap with rivet, filled in gap with ABS paste. Going to keep sanding): Right Knee Ammo Belt (Cut to 90 degree angle): Backpack (Turn around box, clean up the cable): Weapon (Include photos of weapon, add wires to t-track):

Hoda
Ah - so close! Sorry for the back-and-forth. More photos! Right Knee Ammo Belt (Drilled out rivet, replaced with split rivet. Painted white, weathered slightly) Weapon (Not sure if this is the charging handle ... think it is?
