yoshix
So this started foe me when I got the 1/6 scale hot toys fig and just fell in love. I thought (and still do) that this pack is just the coolest. I debated for a little bit on making the crystal patrol pack but then decided to stay with my first love. I started out pulling measurements from the fig and making a moc up with cardboard just to get an idea of size. I hope everyone can see the photos. I knew the parts the attached the antenna would need to be solid so I made the out of 1/2 plywood. Again sizing up my parts
yoshix
Also knew I wanted the top of the antenna to come off for easy transport I used bondo to get some of the angels I wanted. Finally taking shape
yoshix
Antenne is pretty much rapped up I wanted the boxes to be as lite as I could get them so I when with a 3/8 thick polystyrene core with a paper outside
yoshix
I contacted Krookknight to see if he would 3d print just the parts inside the boxes as it would save me a ton of time and be more lite weight than what I could do, and probably look better in the end. Here I was just starting to get the boxes together. Again, plywood to support the weight Here you can see I've got the corners rounded

yoshix
To be honest originally I wasn't going to include this detail however the 3D printed parts are taking longer than expected so I had some more time to work on it. Krookknight told me the parts will be shipping nxt week. He says his printers are down so he's going to Outsource the remaining parts
CrookKnight
Looking good. Your parts will be ready by the end of this week and I will be shipping them to you. Appreciate your patience, I had 2 of my 4 printers go down and decided to outsource what was left.
yoshix
I got something cool today! I pretty sure it's the first all white leather pauldron that trooperbay has made. Also got my First order shoes in. A little comparison to my sandy shoes. My R1 TK kit should be in tomorrow. Can't wait!

yoshix
I've been doing side by side comparisons with the celebration display and Jimmy's photos. The first thing that jumped out at me was the fact that the ab details are much larger and the drop boxes are much larger. I knew that if I was going to make this kit I would have to try to replace parts of the ab and most likely the boxes on the belt. So I started playing around with vacuum forming I made a cardboard mok up to get an idea of size, pulling sizes from the hot toys 1 / 6 scale figure

henselmonster
This is so awesome. I can't wait to see this come together. I'm glad you also noticed the large Ab details on Jim's kit. Its a great kit, but that detail has bugged me since it came out.

yoshix
Clips are moved down Ab is coming along nicely. I cut the details out and took 3/4 off the middle.
dutchy
All your effort will be rewarded in the end. When this is done it's going to be one of the most accurate R1 troopers out there.....and the MEPD loves accuracy
Airborne Trooper
Old School SWAT still got the chops! This is awesome watching come together, Johan
yoshix
So this isn't the finished product, I've still got to do some sanding and filling but it's coming along nicely! Its thick enough that I could use screws to attach the shoulder straps. I wanted something that I could take on and off if there ever was a problem later on down the road.
