CrookKnight
As many of you may already know, Walt (Walt's Trooper Factory) is going to be auctioning off a full Sandtrooper Ensemble. This includes a pack. Crookknight's Imperial Trooper Packs will be donating a pack to this great cause. I will also be building my very own pack at the same time. I am doing this thread so newcomer's can see one way the packs are built (as there are many) with today's technology. I will be using parts from different vendors for this build (I will mention them shortly) and also 3D printed parts. On this top post, I will be adding the progress picture of the pack, once I have the frame completed. I will also be updating the below list with where I am getting parts and materials from. Frame: CPVC frame (unless my karrimor frame arrives in time) Radio: Donated by Ian Havenhand of Sandie Comms Cistern: Accurate version (will let you know exactly where I am getting it from) Upper Left Tool Box: Original Brexton Sandwich Box Upper Middle Detail: 3D printed Plunger Top / properly dimensioned wipes bottle Upper Right Detail: 3D printed Exhast Box and Pipe Upper Right Side Detail: (5) Capacitors made from PVC Right Side Detail: Black ABS 2 inch pipe with 3D printed end caps and mortar control panel (aka Thermal Detonator Plate) Seed Trays: Jason Hill Left Side Detail: PVC Pipes ...... Edited August 29, 2017 by CrookKnight Updated information on where supplies are coming from.

CrookKnight
Ok. I have all of the parts and materials coming. Some lucky person is going to win an entire Sandtrooper Ensemble and this will be the pack. For the frame, I was going to use an original karrimor style frame, but it is taking longer than I anticipated for it to get here. So, I am going to replicate it (to the best of my ability) using CPVC, PVC, glue, and a heating gun. According to many different sources, it appears the frame length is anywhere from 60 cm to 45 cm (bear with me as I am used to inches......not sure thy the US had to change units). The width of the frame is around 37 cm. Below are the materials laid out that I will be using: I will be working on this daily, so it will progress pretty quickly. However, it is late as I write this, so I will not be doing too much tonight. I had already made an extra exhaust box and pipe. Seen below here is the 3D printed version that I use. I have made it longer in order to line up properly with the seed tray seams. For the Upper Left Box (Tool Box), I am using an original Brexton Sandwich box. It should be here in about 1 week. Below is the picture of the box I will be receiving. I have 5 more of these babies coming along with this one. Found a good supplier (someone not associated with Star Wars). Now for the radio, I will be assembling a Sandie Comms (donated by Ian Havenhand) Replica Sonic Radio. Below is a picture of the kit that I will be receiving. This should also be here in about a week or so. Tomorrow, I will begin 3D printing the Canteen with Bee Stinger, the End Caps, and the mortar control panel. As for the Cistern, I have an accurate one coming in the mail also.

CrookKnight
Got my Sonic Radio Kit from Ian Havenhand (Sandie Comms) last night. He managed to crank out 3 of these radio kits in a couple of days and have them sent to me in the US in less than a week. Amazing. Below are some pictures of my build today. Worked on both the Radio and Pack Frame. Started on the base of the radio first. Glued the sides to the base: \ Then added the top: Prepared all of the pieces: Glued bottom pieces on: All pieces glued on: Primed:
CrookKnight
Frame: To bend the pieces, I just used a simple heating gun. Used measurements from a Karrimor Frame. This is going to be my new standard pack frame. All assembled and glued together. Priming Complete: Final coat of Black Satin spray paint has been applied:

I have been getting mine from the UK.

CrookKnight
Made some more progress. Getting close to be done. I have seed trays coming from Jason Hill, so once those get here, I can finish. Here is the Brexton Box and Cistern in the works. Still have to add the final details to the Cistern Valve. In the below image, you can see the status of the exhaust port, canteen, Brexton box, containers, mushroom caps, radar dish, mortar tube end caps and control panel. For this pack I am going with battleship gray. The radio is still a work in progress. Ian Havenhand is guiding me on this one, since this is one from SandieComms. CrookKnight
Pack is almost done. Here are some updated photos. Still have to finish the radio and add the stickers. Add the electrical tape to the top left box, add shoulder straps and a few minor things. Other than that, this thing is done.
