G'day,

Weathering technic I use is liquid brown shoe polish mixed with windex.
Once applied I use crunched up newspaper and let dry.....

Very nice! I like how it makes it look more stained than as opposed to stuck on dirt.

The dirt is easy here where I am..
Everything here turn red iron ore colour and dark occa dirt of the Pilbara...

My technique was "trial and error".

tried sand and hairspray, didn't really like it too much, but it got me through basic approval.

then tried acrylic paint (mix and match until I got a mix I liked) and a mixture of brushes and a damp towel. 

This came out much better.

There are so many techniques and weathering is something really personal. The effect you want can sometimes only be achieved by using a specific technique.

What I used/ did is, I use waterbased terra colours

Applied them with a sponge, starting with the darkest colours first and removing it with a damp cloth but leaving enough to work with on specific areas. Then added the other colours and repeated the process.

Then I used the cloth and dabbed the colours into each other creating a natural look. Took me a few tries to get this technique right...but it works for me :)
