Henselmonster Backpack Build

Recommended Posts

Found these at my electronic surplus store, $0.75 a piece. They are about the right size and I think they will work for the capacitors.

Capacitors for a perfect price...  please show some more pictures!

Is the top slightly rounded? What size are these?

I'm interested too! Are you going to make a 3d mount for them? I'd be interested in that as well!

Shoot me a PM with the total once you've got them and a mount created! I'm trying to get my pack up to date

Is there a model number or name for the correct karrimor frame ? I am beginning the hunt for parts to build my pack.

@Asher There are a few different models that use the same or similar frame. Karrimor Annapurna is one of them. I think some of the Tote'em frames use the correct style, but the ones I have purchased all have the squared bottom section.

The one I have is the Karrimor Tote'em. Like John said, you want the bottom part to be more \_____/ shaped and not |____|

Mine is also the Karrimor Tote-em, and it does have the \___/ shaped bottom. They might not all be that way, though.

However, I do notice that the all the mounting holes provided for the top bar, even the lowest one, make the frame taller than the one Strider shows in his build thread. Everything else looks the same as his, though. I'll likely drill a new set of holes so I can mount that top bar lower, so that I can cut the frame down to his height.

I really hope he will make them available soon to do some upgrade...;)

Added an acrylic disc to the radio dial on my radio. It really helps sell it as the real deal. The discs are 60mm and fit perfectly. I didn’t even need to glue it in place (though I might just for security)

I also picked up some accurate switches at my electronic surplus store. They were from a radio also built in Hong Kong in the 70s!

Yea I have been noticing double posts have been a problem since the update....

however! I do have extra of the disc. I had them make at ponoko. I have about 4 spares, one I’m using to paint black to cover the radio decal during approvals for SWAT I just like the unpainted radio look for my pack
