@ Steve - Thanks for your interest in joining the ranks of the MEPD, Mate!

-- DEPLOYMENT OFFICER NOTES::

Outstanding construction! Great work! :thumbsup:

The weathering is the only thing I would say to tweak a bit. The patterns are fine, but the overall tone looks more 'dirt-like' as opposed to sand. Can you test out a section of the bucket with a mix of more sand like color? A few dabs here and there. That is probably all it really needs to achieve the 'look'.

II.) Armor / Suit Details:

a.) Canvas / Nylon Straps -- CHECK

-- DEPLOYMENT OFFICER NOTES::

Great looking rig, Brother! Can you post a closeup of your upper ight AB SNAP detail?

Your white pauldron may not be acceptable though. Stand by on confirmation.

Your White One...

The flat smooth look is acceptable for the Orange and Black pauldrons, but I do believe the White Pauldron should have this appearance in regards to the groove details...

Also, as mentioned in the Bucket Section, a few tweaks on your present armor weathering colors and you'll be good to go here, Brother!

Our goal is to make sure each and every member is close to accurate as possible while still maintaining each armor's unique appearance and personality. It also will save you hassle / time and eliminate the frustrating review roadblocks if you decide to take on the SWAT program later.

Thank you for your quick turn-around and feedback.
Ironic that using actual sand has made my weathering look non-sand like :) but I take the point you're making. I have sone acrylic paints I can add to this with over the next couple of days.

I'll also provide the extra photo requested- I assume you mean behind the pouch on my right side?

Let me know if this your final decision on the Pauldron for PO. I fully appreciate it's not for SWAT, but maybe ok for PO?

Next update will be in a couple of days. Cheers!

@ Steve - This detail actually...

As for the other mod requests, looking forward to seeing your changes.

I will also get a definite answer for you in regards to your Pauldron. Even though this isn't a SWAT Review, we still want to keep all deployed officers as close to accurate as possible. The extra work and attention to detail is definitely worth it. SWAT status is just the cherry on top of any committed  MEPD TD's build.

You are close, Brother! We'll see you on the Roster soon for sure!

That could be one of the black pauldrons flipped over, meaning a more SWAT like detail. But, it just may be enough to clear the standard P.O. requirements. Confirmation shortly.  :td::duim:

Agree, or mix the light and dark together. Put it on and wipe 90% off. Just like a stain.

also removing some of the ?? How to word it.. The coffee ground look may help. while it neat, may just be a bit much.

rememeber sand, unless wet, falls back off usually. So in this case, less is more.

No worries though, your almost there.

yeah! It does show far too yellow on the computer. I toned it back for the rest of the kit and pulled back the helmet too.

The 'coffee' look is actually red sand from our outback so attempting to get a 'local' look without detracting so far screen accuracy!

Not too easy to scale it back without ruining what's there, but if my updated attempts don't work I may have to think about starting again...

re-worked weathering across the remaining costume.

The thing about using real sand is you have to find a balance. Since the Australian sand is so dark it might be better to use it selectively instead of exclusively. Think about walking through a desert with your armor on. You would really only have grainy sand in recessed areas. I would recommend using acrylics to get your base and add a little bit of sand.

Re emphasizing what Airborne said. Also the sand will usually settle on tops of horitontal parts. Usually not on vertical parts, unless for some reason it was wet.

 So for all the creases that are vertical you may tone it back. Also the under sides.

 Hope this helps. I know on mine I used the paints and then while wet, I just added tile grout to give  quick dusting. Not too much just a subtle bit.

Steve,

if you would like me to give you a hand with your weathering I am happy to do so. I know you don't want the same amount of Greasy oily dirt that I have, but I am happy to show you the application process.

Andrew.

P.S. We meet at Somerville.

Thanks all. I do appreciate the feedback and support from everyone so far. Probably rushing this last bit in my excitement!

Will revert back shortly with some updated weathering.

@ Steve - Excellent progress, Mate!  Echoing my fellow Command Staffers, we just want to make sure you are on the right path and that your rig is the best that it could and WILL be! You are definitely almost there!

-- DEPLOYMENT OFFICER NOTES::

Everything looks great, Brother! The weathering is the only thing you need to take care of. A very frustrating process indeed, but well worth it in the end. No worries, we have a spot reserved for you in the Precinct. Just take your time, heed the advice of your fellow TDs and get this part as close to spot on as possible. We'll be here waiting! You are definitely going to be another fine addition to our ranks!
