The DLT-19 for me, i ordered it by a spanish member of the 501st. All this things are orderd and i hope - they come soon ...

But, to shorten the waiting time, we will start small ...

For the shoulder, we bought two MP40-pouches and colored them black:

It looks grey, but the colour is really black. The wweathering is following.

The next step where the boots. We bought it black and colored them white, like the boots in ANH:

Like the Tusken Costume, we try it first on my things and then on the things from my son .... :deathstar2:

So, the frisrt try on my boots:

Our Fleamarket find from today - some "Tupperparts" for the backpack and Hengstlers for the E11-build.

For my "Filter BackPack":
- 2 Pudding Cups, Mod. 754
- cover from Pitcher, Mod. 874
- Stow-n-Go Box, mod. 767

Für Martins "Move-along Pack"
- 2 Pudding Cups, Mod. 754
- cover from Pitcher, Mod. 874

The Hengstlers are faulty - so i adjust them with our 501st-ID´s

WOW!
Great start!!

The boots look great!
What kind of paint is that?
I have a pair of vintage chelsea boots waiting for me to paint them white. But have not decided how to do it yet.

And, are you saying you found the counters on a flea marker? Thats lucky. All I can find in a flea market is garbage and old kitchen utensils. I did find a WC syphon on a WC tank on the streets of London, but that was just luck!

Keep it coming and post more pictures.

Saludos.

Yes, the counters and the tupperware is from the last fleamarket.

This is one of the best and biggest fleamarket in bavaria (look the pictures):

This fleamarket is over three days. The bought of the counters was pure coincidence. There was a stand with used electrical itmes.

The first kit is arrived - thank you Paul!!

Now the first question. I´m a little "bigger" than other people (94kg). The gap between the AB Plate and the Kidneyplate is ca. 6.5 cm.

Is it possible to close this gap with a elastic band in white? I have seen this by another TD, but i don´t find the pic.

First the original:

Here a sketch as i imagine it. I sketch the elastic band yellow.  - What do you think??

You will need to make a shim or order an ab and kidney from AP as his are much longer. If you make a shim, you'll need to fill any seems so it looks like the armor came that way.

You need an account at Whitearmor.net to see it:

No bro... unfortunately white elastic to close the seams is not approvable, not for PO or SWAT at least. Not 100% on basic entrance level, that would be up to your GML . But, I would not recommend it.

One possible way is as suggested, to get the kidney plate from AM armor, and use the ab plate you already have. TM armor is way more accurate than AM, but the kidney is a smallish detail to have un-accurate compared to the rest of the parts...

The other, as said too, is to shim it. This might be a bit more difficult and slower than just changing the part. But, it is a popular alternative if you want to keep your original part.

Either way, if done correctly, should be no prob for level 2 and 3 clearance.

Saludos.

Yes, you'll want to shim that gap, not use elastic.  It's actually pretty simple.

Get some scrap material.  Ideally, ask TrooperMaster to sell you some extra plastic so the color match is perfect, but depending on how much weathering you do, it may not need to be a perfect match if it's covered up a lot.

Cut a plate for each side, roughly the size of the yellow rectangle you drew in the image above.  (Note: The top of the kidney plate should align with the top of the ab plate.  Any extra extends below.)

Remove the return edge at the side, so the new plate can lie flat in line with the kidney plate.  Tape it in place (temporarily) to see how it looks from the outside.

Now, instead of tape, just take another piece of scrap material (perhaps 4cm wide, almost as long as the whole shim edge) and glue it to the kidney and the shim from behind, to hold it in place permanently.

For higher level approvals you'll need to use ABS paste to fill the joint where the shim and kidney meet, and sand it smooth to "erase" that seam.

That's it, good to go. :)

Ok, thanks for your answers.  I contacted Paul and ordered some ABS-plates. I will do like in your answers. The quality of the parts from Paul are so good, i will work with them. I think, it is no problem, to work like your instructions. Thanks again!
