Caomhanach
So, what do people recommend for the shoulder straps? Any particular type of elastic? Width? What brand is better than others? Also, same thing for the sew in snaps... Thanks
DirtyBoy
Just your standard waist band material bro. Super cheap and easy to do.
Jancelot
I get my snaps from Trooperbay: https://trooperbay.com/sew-on-shoulder-strap-snaps.html For elastic, I use 2" heavy duty. I double it up, but that's probably not necessary.
TD42115
I just rebuilt mine this morning for screen accuracy, 2 inch wide tightly woven elastic straps with sew-on snaps for shoulders :-)
Airborne Trooper
I used 2 inch white elastic but doubled it up to eliminate some of the extra elasticity, mostly for the shoulder bell attachment so it wouldn't pull it and create a bunching effect. DirtyBoy
Yup 2"....I didn't bother with sew on snaps....I use a loop through my suspenders to hold on my shoulder bells. No stress pulls on the chest/back

thumpernicus
Is there a tutorial or some pictures of how to mount the elastic onto the armor itself? Thanks!
Caomhanach
There is a thread over on the FISD that shows how to attach (I am hoping there is one over here so we can stop people heading over there and be 'tempted' by the shiny's.. !) ukswrath is doing a good build using the Anovos armor, now bear in mind we don't have the hard shoulder straps (just the soft ones) but at least it shows you the intent, ie snaps, gluing, etc...
