DroidChaser
So I was lucky enough to be offered my armor by a garrison mate, while did make quite a few adjustments I didn't get the satisfaction of a build. So with that in mind and some prompting by my Squad leader I decided to get a pack kit from Dirty Boy and sharpen my build skills. I hosted an armor party to get some of the work done. I have made quite a bit of progress in painting and assembly. I am up to the putting everything on the pack stage but am waiting for the paint to cure a bit more. My brown box. The parts: I was so overwhelmed. Cistern assembly Paint test Pretty blue Frame in progress Radio Assembled and painted. Shell arrangement Pack parts awaiting assembly. I still have work to do on the mortar tube. My plan is to use Pandatroopers seamless seed tray assembly to hold everything together. I will update as I get closer to finished. BroadSword
Looking good! I just got my brown box from Dirty Boy yesterday, so I'm definitely looking for tutorial/build info. Please keep documenting your steps!!!
DroidChaser
I have gotten some assembly complete now. Top tray riveted and glued. Top and bottom trays on the frame. (Had to touch up the radio paint job after this pic.) Top tray attached using Pandatroopers zip tie method. Mortar tube complete and ready to be attached to the frame once the detpad glue dries. Just need to add and aluminium bar to reinforce the stinger assembly Final steps to complete are to get the adjustable straps I want sewn and attached then to weather it. Waiting on radio decals from Trooperbay.
BroadSword
Awesome!! What are the exact brands/colors of spraypaint I need for this?

DroidChaser
In a brief flurry of activity last night I "finished" the assembly of the pack. I will be sewing and attaching the strapping this weekend and weathering. I realize I forgot the black tape on the lower tray, and I have no wire on the radio. I made the radio face removable so I can stash a speaker and little MP3 player back there for the TD loop sounds. Bracket for stinger installed. Close of Pandatroopers zip tie closure system. Overall pics of the pack.

DroidChaser
Nice pack Doug for sure! The zip ties makes it so you can service the pack, correct? Yes they work really well. Unfortunately I had one point inside that popped when I pulled on the zip tie, but I believe that was due to the one of the anchor points on the tool box not being set correctly. But I can easily fix. The strapping is almost complete. I am making them adjustable but had a sewing machine mishap. Strapping and weathering will be complete this weekend for trooping. I'll see if I can wear it for 4+ hours at a toy show.

BroadSword
What spray paint colors/brands should I pick up to complete a pack? Black and a blue of some kind. Just looking for specifics.
DroidChaser
Here is a thread that discusses the blue in detail. Blue Paint Due to my impatience I used Krylon Peek a boo Blue because it was ready available.
DirtyBoy
There's a few different versions people use. Rust oleum lake blue was the choice for years. There's a humbrol paint the guys in the UK use but we don't have readily available this side of the pond. Krylon also makes a comparable version and I believe it's slate blue.
