I had a day off today so i had some time to continue my build. It slowly comes together and i am very excited and actually pretty happy with the result so far. Here you go:

I started with the hooks on the biceps. I figured out that i need to trim the return edge a little bit more...

Then i started forming the hooks. Used a hairdryer, worked perfectly!

step by step

i put them under cold water to cool them off

and they turned out like this:

After that i glued the elastics to the inside of the forearm.

Nice weather today so i went outside and punched some holes..

And put the straps to the kidney..

Then i finished the connection but no picture of that unfortunately. After putting it together i had to notice that the elastics were too long. I test fitted both parts very accurate but in the end it was a little bit too big. I already have a idea to fix that and also leave the option to undo the fix if i get fat.

So this is how the shoulder+biceps look like:

And last step for today was the shoulder straps:

Any thoughts? Anything i can do better or any big mistakes i overlooked?

Thanks for reading guys! Seeya

Yesterday i put the snaps onto the inside of the shoulder straps. I saw most of you guys sewed the snaps but i wonder if e6000 will be enough. I first cut out a square out of a strap and glued the snap on. Then i put the "snap on the strap" to the elastic shoulder strap. Anyone ever tried this? I wonder if i need to support it with sewing.

Hey guys! Last couple days were busy cause of the whole pre-vacation stress and thats the reason i had no chance to post any pictures. This build will be stopped for 3 weeks cause i am going on a route 66 roadtrip and have a stop in Vegas for some gambling action!

Will be continued when i am back home, troopers! SeeYa!!! :)

finally got some e-6000 and got some time to work on my armor. I am now in the process of the strapping system. I decided to go the easiest way you could image. Glue. How i already said, i am no craftmen-guy and also i do not really have fun in trying to be one. I came up with a simple system for the chest/ab so i can adjust size/lenth of the straps that i will just glue into the armor just like they did with luke's armor (i do not remember where i got this information but i am sure i saw some pictures of the straps just glued in). First i thought about snaps but i could not really figure out why i'd need snaps. Snaps just make it possible to remove the cords/elastics. I think i won't need to remove them. I will post pics as soon as possible.

So for now i did some test fitting and continued on the thighs. I am not really sure but it seems like i should try to get the shoulder bells closer to the body. I will post pics soon as well.

So nothing big going on right now, just wanted to let you guys know i am still alive and working on the kit! :)

The pics aren't really good but i think you get an idea:

10351396_897368316947824_146910841970155

With the biceps it's even harder because the bell is actually pretty small so i have to pull it over the biceps and so the gap gets even bigger. I don't know if a shorter strap (the one that attaches the bell to the shoulder strap) would make sense because the biceps kinda pouches it away from the body. Hard to explain but i hope you understand what i am talking about. Maybe i should consider reshaping the bell (thats what i did to make it look more like in the movies. now i see it didn't make any sense)...

and here is the thing i use for the strapping for chest/ab.

Thanks for checking out my build :)

Here you go buddies, that's where i am right now...

i finished the arms, everything is put together. Still concerned about the bells. Everything is pretty tight, maybe i gonna "open" the bells a little bit more...

This is the idea i came up with for the strapping. I hate sewing and working with snaps so i just glued it after i did this:

10406513_897368253614497_268077185435456

And it goes right here:

And the AB

And finally...!!!!... First fitting test:

What do you guys think? To me it looks like i really should tighten up the shoulder to make it come closer to the armor/chest...

Yup,.. that's it for now.

AH! One more thing: I don't know why but most of the pictures in the thread are gone. Is it just my computer or do you guys also miss the pictures of the first few pages?
