Weathered!!!

Also, aged. Specially the pouches.

To mod the pouches you can do it with very different techniques depending on the material. But the overall objective is to make them look used and as if they had seen a lot of action in harsh enviroments... The idea is to make them look real, of course.

For leather pouches, you can soften and even shrink to some point the leather with warm water and rolling them up and down. Do not use too hot water or the pouches will shrink and become unusable. Let them dry after molding with a wood block inside so they can get the shape of the mags... You can use a wooden spoon to make the leather take the shape of the "mags". Here is where the moderate shrinkage due to warm water is welcome.

For canvas, you can dye them and then also make them soft with warm water... and let them dry the same way as leather ones.

Onces they are dry, you can kick them around (both leather or canvas), rub them into concrete, sand the edges and get a lot of dirt over them WITH the wooden mags inside... this for a natural old look. Also, the canvas ones can be painted to give them the look of old oil accumulating on it. Oil from the mags of course...

Use the search engine on the forum. Many different techniques to achieve different results.

Here is a picture of my pouches brand new and after weathering, so you get an idea...

After the shaping and aging, I used a sandpaper to make them look old, also cut little holes on the canvas one and sanded it to make a few threads appear around them, and finally kicked them around in a concrete floor and on the dirt to make it look old and dirty...

Hope it helps...
