In honor of Star Wars day May 4th, ROUTE 66 PATROL hiked 5.4 miles to the top of Griffith Park through the hiking trails in 82 degree weather decked out with full Sandtrooper Armor (Buckets, Packs and BFGs) to raise money for The Children's Hospital of Los Angeles.

The people we met on our hike were asked to check out this site:

ROUTE 66 PATROL FUNDRAISER

The representing patrol members were:

TD-4095 - Stryder / Eugene W. Brown
TD-4749 - Retnuhha / Robert Longfellow

TD-6985 - Scribbler / Michael L. Ramirez
TD 5762 - Sklar / Justin Peck

This was not a Legion sanctioned mission and was just another one of our stealth deployments.

We managed to raise $755.00 for the kids so far. We are all very appreciative and every little bit will definitely help!

The highlight of the day was when we were spotted by a unit from the LAPD Air Division. The helicopter circled us for a bit observing when all of a sudden the pilot yelled over his speaker:

"Hey, Stormtroopers! Can we get a picture?"

They flew really low and took a photos before calling out one last time:

"Thanks & May the Fourth be with you!."

Our Route 66 Patrol Handlers also took care of explaining to the curious public what we were doing, took photos and handed out flyers with information on where to donate and full description of our cause. They are:

Natasha Burkestone, Jasmine Capili, Kim Brown and Jenny Ramirez

Our unit may not appear at many events, but when we do we definitely make it count.

This was a challenging and outstanding hike. All the bumps, bruises, head scrapes, sore calves and sweating was worth it! The MEPD was well represented on this memorable day!

Lo
oking forward to the next hike with the rest of the 66ers that were not able to make this one!

ROUTE 66 PATROL: NO EXCUSES, JUST RESULTS! :td: :salute:

@ Jason - Thanks, Brother!

Honestly, this was the toughest outing in armor and gear that I have ever experienced since I joined the Legion.

But, so worth it!

Glad to know that our armor can hold up to HEAVY trooping. :td::thumbsup:
