clonecollector
Quick question... Does the Roadblack captain (MP 40 Pouches scene) have a counter on his blaster? I've decided to make a Bapty version build but can't see if he has a counter or not. I've looked at some SWAT builds and I see some that have it... Others I can't tell. I'd like to know because it will affect how I make the scope rail and attachment method. Can anyone give some input or recommendations? I'd like to eventually go for SWAT so I'm building with that in mind. Thanks!
Sandman Tigui
Good to have another Bapty enthusiast aboard Paul. I myself did a step to step Bapty build. Did a lot of research and did the build based on the attached picture. If you see it closely you'll see it has a counter question is how many numbers does it have? For what I've researched it has between 5-6 slots. Being 6 slots the common criteria. Other Bapty fans and builders like Darth Chridian a Felix could give also great input about the subject. Hope this helps and anything you need let us know bro😉
DarthChridan
Yeah...the 'Bapty-Club' will be bigger But like Luis had written, the search for good reference pics is not really easy. My build was also based on this pic (the pic from Luis' post). Here's a topic that would be interesting for you--->> http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?showtopic=12647 ...and here in the 'E-11 Blaster' section there's a lot of good Bapty builds....let's have a look and let yourself be inspired. clonecollector
Thanks guys! My base will be a doopy kit. I will definitely use your builds as inspiration so that there is consistency. Once I begin I will post pics in my main WIP thread.

darthgrace
Please dont make fun of the new guy but I have a question: What does Bapty stand for? Thanks
DarthChridan
No Problem, mate...there are no stupid questions... Bapty is a company who made at that time the mods on the Sterlings/ E-11 blaster for the tunisian film sets. The weapons laws of tunisia has the import of the sterling submachine guns not allowed at that time. So Lucasfilm had to respond....the finish result is the 'Tunisian Blaster' or also called 'Bapty Blaster'. Here's a link that would be interesting--->> http://www.originalprop.com/blog/movie-guns/star-wars-episode-iv-a-new-hope/
clonecollector
Please dont make fun of the new guy but I have a question: What does Bapty stand for? Thanks Hey, I'm new too... Lol! Bapty is the prop house that made the blasters for the original Star Wars production. The version used by Sandtroopers as well as some promotional photos are different than the blasters carried by TK's on the Death Star. Hope this helps! Sandman Tigui
Yep that's what it stands for. No wrong questions asked so no worries about it 😉
Felice
Congrats to your plans to build the tunesia blaster!!! I will follow your WIP my friend To your question: i would say yes! Why? 1. i don't know if this is 100% correct, but i think that every E11 had a counter before the action started. the problem was, that the counters were clued and many of them falled off during the movie takes 2. Take a look the the blaster and the gap between scope rail and pipe. It's not a really good picture but if there was no counter you have to see more light/white inside the gab

clonecollector
One more question fellas... What scope is on this troopers blaster? Is it the M38?... the other scope (M19 I think)? I think the resn DoopyDoos kit comes with an M38 scope. Should I look into getting a costing of the other scope? I just figured that if I'm going to go this far I can't forget that detail. Thanks for your help again!
Sandman Tigui
Although some versions of the blaster in ANH used the M19 the Sandie way to go for the Tunisia Replica without a doubt is the M38. You can use the doopy doos kit part and if I don´t recall wrong either its Felice or Opi Wan who has some really smoking hot M38 metal replicas. Hope this helps Paul

clonecollector
Another question for the experts: Should the Roadblock captain have a wooden block inserted into the magazine or the standard cover? I really can't tell from the screen caps. I've received my doopy kit via trooperbay and have begun modifying the parts for this build! TrainWreck
I don't know specificly about the Roadblock Captain but it's my understanding that some of the Tunisian E-11s had the wooden block and some of them had the cut down magazine. Once again I'm very noob here but I would assume that was user choice even for S.W.A.T.
TrainWreck
I don't know if this helps but this is a bapty comparison thread: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/25183-blaster-comperison-bapty10-vs-bapty20/

Felice
Hi Tunesian members:-) there was a time i thougt that the propstore blaster was used in ANH. For the body it's right but not for the applications like the scope, counter and so on... Now i know it better:-) Here are 2 pics of an screen used Tunesian blaster with a wodden magazine. So i would prefer the wodden one:-)

I have a few more details to work on and then I can begin the priming and painting. I will then do a final assembly and finish paint.
