tk-4224
ok guys just a short break and a lil back to topic tk-4224 didn´t want to be rip of in future so heres a question for the ultimate trooper primari school what the **** means "Bumpy Cap"
Gizmo
The original ANH stunt helmets cap and back have a bumpy texture which varies in definition depending on the sharpness of the pull and thickness of the paint applied. It is clearly visable on most close up shots of original helmets.Years ago when Matt did a very well priced offer for helmet kits(before he knew there were such A$$holes out there that would recast his kits.)he cast these from his first original helmet and he did the first few with the very well cast and unalterred bumpy cap and back. Many people complained how horrible the bumps looked so Matt offered a clean version.Up until these days people didn`t realize that the bumps were so accurate and didn`t care for them.My helmet is one of these first run helmets and I will never part with it.Little did people know what they`d missed out on until Matt started offering them again. If any this is incorrect please correct me Matt. Cheers Ben
hpdblues
Ben, That's exactly what I've learned. The smooth cap & back helmets were indeed a product of ignorance. Little did these individuals know that the bumpy cap & back is as authentic and accurate as anyone can get to being part of the Star Wars magic. Wonderful to know that there other troopers out there who know the difference. I REALLY enjoy pulling from the bumpy cap & back MOLD, the problem is that I've grown attached to all the pieces I've pulled - they're like my babies! And one day I hope to afford one of your babies. LOL that sounded so wrong I just HAD to post it.
SethB6025
I think calling them your "babies" may lead to some misunderstandings; "I have to go vaccuum-form my babies" "do you like the bumpy cap & back on my babies"? "I painted my baby today" "I need to cut the eyes and teeth out of my babies" "On my babies the face is held on with rivets, and the ears screw on" I'm sure there are more, but you get the idea. Here is my GINO ANH stunt, it's the only ANH helmet that I've , all my other ANH helmets are converted or in the process of being converted into ESB.
