Luis ...the pic of my build for Smally shows a missing catch for folding stock under the back end of the barrel, that is because Brad was awaiting that part from Doopey Doos, and also the selector switch -safety catch- (and he still is too i believe ! ) a great and informative thread though bro ! well done Mi Amigo :)

Thanks amigo! I'm doing the buildup without the selector switch and without a mini cylinder that goes between the cut mag and Hengster count.

Pure Baptsy 101 :D

i'm in the process of building a PVC E-11 from scratch, handmaking every part for my move along trooper.

This thread is invaluable, and i caught it at the absolute perfect time in the midst of my building. Thank you SO much for this, Looks like i'm gonna make one of these right off the bat.

Thanks brothers!

Thanks bro! If my head doesn't betray me drilling the 74 holes using up to 3 dremel cutters was a task.

I'm focusing in the little details as substituting and drilling real screws from the plastic ones.

Also if it helps for the T-tracks I sanded by hand the tips and bent them with a heating gun applying pressure with my thumb at the ends to resemble a perfect hole thru fit. Course I used a glove. LOL

Will be posting pics later on. If you need any help let me know its been slow and detailed for me but having fun in every piece I work to make a sweet Baptsy ;)

Eagerly awaiting your progress brother.

Also, if anyone out there has pics of their own Bapty, i'd love to see it before i dive into this bad boy that I have here.

Thanks!

At the last event in grünstadt/germany I had seen Alex' Bapty blaster...and I have to say...I love this style more and more.

Ok guys...the next kit will be a bapty version...

Btw...Felix: is your version in progress with the 'normal' magazine?...I think I make this version too.

Yep Daniel because my first is the wooden version.

My version is the restored bapty from the propstore...this one is a little bit different, specially the used look (like Alex one)

My version will be without the mag cap. Pure shaved and I've substituted plastic parts for metal parts.

Ruggero sent me a fine piece of a Hengster part. Still doing my research if:

1. I add a number count

2. Add glass scope viewers on both ends

3. Leave them plain

Want to go Baptsy in every way ;)

Progress done round 2:

1 Cutted and measure each T-Track into shape

2 Used a knife for the curvature shape

3 Sanded each T-Track Tip

4 Bent them with a heating gun. Just the tips slightly

5 While still hot molded into the circle vents with a little preasure

6 Fine sawed the folding stock

7 Out of an acrylic part shaped it into the aiming sights

8 Glued all parts with ACE 3000 Plastic Exposy

9 Some gaps like in the sights I will still mold with epoxy clay

10 Cut it out a little metal tube and filled it out with epoxy clay

11 Added a bolt screw by pressure at the tip

12 This was to substitute the plastic ammo lever for a more accurate one

13 Will let the glue cure for 24 hrs and seal some parts with loctite and baking soda

Next stop to work on the mag and rail scope parts.

Then do 2 rounds of aluminum spray, 1 of copper in certain parts, 2 of flat black and then weather.

Hope you like progress so far bros ;) !

Both YES!

Here you find everything you need for your build...

http://www.propstore...rooper-blaster/

I tried to bend the steale scope rail (yes, it was steal, not aluminium) but i had no chance to get the curves i needed.

Enjoy my friend!

This is gold bro, thanks for the share bro!!!!

4 points I see for criteria:

1. The original sepia pic has the mag shaved off with a wooden plate. The certified prop has a regular mag cap and an inserted piece to it.

Both are correct, they are different versions with slight mods. However what would be more Baptsy accurate?

2. In the certified prop I count 4 digit number slots. Correct?

3. M38 Scope has glass lens at both ends. See NO imperial reticle although I have various designed templates. Go with or without reticle?

4. In the original certified pic the fork like part looks like if it has a little rivet. The sepia pic doesn't. Again what would make it more Baptsy legit?

Let the criteria discussion begin, and once again thanks for the share and response Felice!!! ;)

Here my thoughts:

to 1: both variations are accurate, so i decided to build both ;-) (the wooden one is finished)

to 2: yes, just 4 digits on the counter. The problem is, that this version is very rare

to 3: without reticle

to 4: for me both variations are accurate

The bapty from the star wars chronicals and from the propstore are the only detailed references. I can't find any detailed reference shots in the movie. So, if you plan tu build a bapty, you have 2 versions for your selection:-) so build two :peace:

My neither bro, I guess we have both outsmoked the references we have.

That been said I guess I'll go for the Bapty version in the sepia pic. I find it more unusual just due to the capless mag.

Wohooooooo bro!!! Passion for building an accurate Bapty is getting big my dear friend!!!! :)

Tahnks to OpiWan because he was the first who posted his Bapty build here in the forum!!

this is my first one...with the wooden magazine

The only "original" thing is the hengstler with 5 numbers.

The "problem" of this version is, you just have one picture of the left side. So you have to interpret the right side. Ok, every SWAT have to interpret his armor, so it doesn't matter.

To build a Bapty is really a lot of fun my friend!!!!!

I think i can start my thread at weekend of the second one.......

It sure is my friend!!! And I totally agree with you for example: will have to add a rivet in the pipe on the right side. Pure logic.

As for the wooden cap cutted a little part in area slightly smaller than the whole mag area. Will paste it and will make a wall in the shape of all the mags end as it was shaved off.

Designed some sweet digit numbers in my laptop which will have them printed in photographic paper an seal them with a thick plastic cover.

Had actually done 4 digits my TD number. LOL 5044 guess will have to 05044 :D

Lucky you are doing the 2 versions!!!

Bapty will get popular you'll see!

Here comes another progress in the mag cap.

Yes that's wood! LOL after it cures will build with molding clay a slight wall that borders the shape of the mag. If you see the original Bapty sepia pic there's a little gap between the wooden cap and the mag itself.

More progress to come. :)

Almost there!!! Observe the gaps in the shaved wooden magless cap.

Have measured and aligned pieces according to the original Bapty sepia pic.

Next weekend paint, weathering and minor fine detailing.

'76 Bapty Blaster here I come!!!
