  1. I'm hoping to compile an updated source list for E-11 components. Much has been written, but I'm struggling with sourcing a few items. Here's a quick rundown of my progress... ANY LINKS TO SELLERS OF THESE COMPONENTS WOULD BE APPRECIATED! 1. British Sterling SMG - Parts kits are available in the US, but hacked to bits for people wanting to start an E-11 build with an authentic (deactivated) and metal gun. My research suggests that people that go this route either replace the receiver with a new metal or pvc cylinder, or attempt to re-weld the steel pieces. For non-butchered Sterlings, the UK (original manufacturer) seems to have many for sale, following the model's somewhat recent decommission in 1994. HOWEVER, inquiries to those sources all yield the same response - 'deac sterlings cannot be shipped to the US.' If you are okay with fake/cast versions, then scratch-built (wood and pvc), resin, rubber, modified toys, or modified airsoft (BB gun) versions are the only remaining options. Prices vary wildly, as does accuracy to the film. Most popular and affordable sources for a completed prop seem to be: Resin ( lightweight, painted and detailed, but reported to be brittle - good for trooping) - http://www.doopydoos.com/ rubber ( lightweight, painted and durable - great for trooping) - http://hyperfirmblasters.com/ ----------- to assemble from individual components or parts, here's what I've found--------- 2. m38 scope - depending on which E-11 model you are matching, the scope may vary (m38 or m32). As with the Sterling body, there are many options - with cast resin being the most affordable. ebay holds several options, including aluminum and even brass options for sale. Choose the most accurate your budget can afford. Sorry, I couldn't find an authentic version for sale anywhere. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=m38&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR11.TRC2.A0.H0.Xm38+scope.TRS1&_nkw=m38+scope&_sacat=0 3. 34 round Sterling SMG magazine - Most parts kits will come with this component, but it can be purchased separately. Buyers need to be aware that certain sellers limit shipping to specific US states due to 'high capacity' restrictions - shame since the magazine will only be chopped down anyway. Stock is very sporadic on this website though I have had some luck in the past finding other items http://www.ima-usa.com/ 4. Hengstler Counter - Depending on who you know, this item may be easy or impossible to find. Europeans seem to have an easier go with all parts, but US buyers may be lucky enough to find one with the coveted 'eagle' insignia. For what it's worth 3D printed versions look nearly perfect to me and come in at a fraction of the cost. I've heard $100-$400 for a real one, but 3D carved version go for about $50. And though the counter doesn't work, a real counter wouldn't be used either. Once again, plastic or resin are the best options for price. Resin - http://www.doopydoos.com/ plastic - http://www.shapeways.com/search?q=hengstler&type= 5. power cylinders - I'm not even sure what I'm looking at here, but they resemble fuses. Others that have conducted better research than I suggest that these are 'vacuum tube amplifiers from the 60s and 70s.' plastic - https://www.etsy.com/search?q=star+wars+e-11&order=most_relevant&view_type=gallery&ship_to=US or... http://www.shapeways.com/product/TCZC9LEA2/power-cylinders-for-e11-blaster?optionId=43698549 or...http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xe-11+power+cylinder.TRS0&_nkw=e-11+power+cylinders&_sacat=0 6. power cords - Basic, small gauge wring - black sheathed. Many options will work and should be easily found at a local hardware store. 7. T Tracks - inexpensive drawer guides made of plastic. These are strangely difficult to find (and the reason I'm writing this post). Some people use rubber, others use hard plastic that is cut to length and then heated to make the bends into the sterling's heat vent holes. Official material is plastic. Does anyone have a source for these? I'd also need some for my MG-34. 8. Mounting Rail - The flat bar that the scope is mounted to. Though two versions are seen in the film, the material is the same - thin flat steel, and easily found at the hardware store.
