  1. So I noticed I haven't updated this thread on the last progress I made...so I got some resin parts from a maker on this page for the T-21 blaster (BFG) lol and so far this is what it looks like as well as I made some progress on my pack Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  2. My crashmann pack #3 kit arrived! Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  3. My TD was recently approved so I'm requesting sand trooper MEPD access. Randie Gray TD 11006 http://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=23569 Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  4. Hey I'm having problems trying to find a place to print these do you have these already cropped and saved that you could send me that may work on a regular printer and just tape together? Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  5. How did you print the templates? I can't find a place that can print them Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  6. Hey guys I recieved my basic TD approval and now I am TD-11006 and no longer a shiney!!! Now I will be trying to find a decently priced T-21 or DLT-19 and I should be getting a pack soon from Crashman Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  7. Today I removed my decals on the helmet and hand painted all the gray areas on the helmet and after that was complete I weathered the helmet:) The only parts I am waiting on is my diamond knee plate and ab buttons from ata and then I will submit my pictures to my GML for basic approval since I don't have a weapon or pack yet:( Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  8. Thanks alot I took your idea of using the zip ties and it worked out great! I used black elastic strips and sewed a loop for the zip tie to go thru and tie to the leather loop on the pouch, then I super glued the other end of the elastic to the inside of the belt Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  9. What's a good way to attach them? Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  10. Hey thanks I was thinking the same. The good thing about acrylics is I can remove it at any time so I've been removing little by little but I did finish the legs today so let me know what you think. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  11. Today I started weathering the abdomen, belt, and small spainish pouches.. here how it looks Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  12. So heres some pics of the burnt umber on the shin piece compared to the just sand like mix I made for the chest and arms piece Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  13. Added alittle more to part of the chest and some on the pauldron.. just taking my time but I also don't want the weathering to extreme. idk if it's me but when I initially used the burnt umber it's came out too dark and reminded me of mud so I haven't gone back to that color quite yet I've been sticking with a mix of primarily unbleached titanium(sand like color), yellow ocre, and a little bit of burnt umber and I feel the color is close to desert looking grime and caked up sand Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  14. Look what came in the mail today! My white pauldron and small spainish pouches Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  15. Thanks guys this is pretty fun but didn't release how much method to the madness there was with weathering haha Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  16. Here is both arms and chest with alittle more weathering I used a Mix of unbleached titanium (lighttancolor) and yellow ocre and got this look still not sure if I like it what do you guys think??? Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  17. Thanks guys! Yeah after seeing pictures after troops and at events I was like man TKs are kind of boring and I wanted something that sticks out alittle more. Also there aren't that many Sandy's in my area (Colorado). I've always liked either tantive 5 boarding party TKs or the sand troopers never really cared for the stormtroopers in the other two OT movies Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  18. So today I found out I wouldn't be able to make it to a local troop this coming Saturday, I then decided what a great chance to get started on my Sand Trooper Sergeant build!! I started with removing shoulder bridges, ab button plates, knee plates, and drop boxes. I also started weathering a few parts of my armor with acrylic what do you guys think this is about only two different colors I believe..burnt umber and a color called unbleached titanium it's a sand color. This is only with two passes. Please let me know what you guys think so far?
  19. Hello I'm TK11006 and I've decided to ditch the look of a shiney TK and dirty up my armor and become a Sand trooper!!! Here is my armor at the moment waiting on my pauldron, knee plate, ammo pouches, and 3 ab button plate to arrive then the modding will begin Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  20. It was a decent deal but will probably never buy a used kit again Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  21. Well when I talked to the guy he said the shins and thighs were assembled using E6000 and not super glue, well I just checked and tried to separate them and he used super glue and the ABS is really thin compared to my ATA armor so it cracked. I'm ordering new thighs and shins from WTF. The rest of the armor is to bad just have to replace some snaps and straps Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  22. So I purchased a used WTF sand trooper armor kit I knew it would need some work to get it somewhat accurate..this armor kit will be for my wife. So once I received it I noticed the return edge on the top of the thighs was removed will this disqualify the armor from basic approval??? I own a TK that it built to centurion level of accuracy but is only for now approved at basic level. Also I have to fix the thighs and rebuild them using the butt join and cover strip method since the previous owner used the over lapping for the front Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

  24. The color would make sense to be gray look at the gray on the back of the helmet in the image it matches the gray on the back pack even with the filters on or off. Also remember they were thrifty with production they probably used the same gray for the helmet on the pack since they had it laying around also gray seems to be the color of most of the empires equipment Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
