  1. Copy that. I thought so, but didn’t want to assume. Thigh looks good.
  2. That’s awesome! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Thanks man. Yeah, unfortunately it is printed as one part. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Looks good. Be sure to trim that thigh coverstrip a bit... and lose the TK paint job on the helmet tears (if that is the bucket you’re using) As as for weathering, I used acrylic paint. Some use Fullers Earth for a more subtle or dusty look. I think the paint would be more durable. Either way, It is a bit of an art.
  5. Sorry about the images - tapatalk has changed something so I will have to change how I post. I'm not good with change.
  6. Getting going on the T-21. It is a 3D print so I’ve been busy sanding and spraying filler primer. The kit doesn’t include all the greeblies so I ordered these from shapeway. The base part didn’t fit the arm so some trimming was needed. Glued together. This shows the difference between the finished surface and the original with print lines. I’m using the print lines to simulate the ribbed texture of the original Lewis guns. Original I had to remove some plastic to accommodate the rear swivel. Most of the parts are glued and ready for black primer. You can see where I didn’t filler primer the barrel for the ribbed effect. This is a version of the original Lewis gun. Some seem to have the texture extend further back, some don’t. I think it is the same as what is used in the movie based on how the light is reflecting in this shot. I’ll do black primer followed by gloss aluminum and a clear coat. This is my base. I’ll spray gunmetal and black on layer in light coats and rubbing it off a bit between coats. This gives a nice worn look.
  7. Thanks. Not sure about the pics. They show up fine when in edit mode, then disappear when I submit the post. Maybe I’ll try a repost to see if that helps. Edit: the original post works in tapatalk. I’ll assume there is/was an issue with tapatalk not playing friendly with the forum. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. So, still waiting for my pack and I have a couple of other little things I’m waiting for. I also have to finish that T-21. But I went ahead and submitted pics for basic approval. Here are some pics. I have a few dressing issues and perhaps some strap fine tuning that I will revisit for upper level pics (arms keep riding up for one and my one pouch slide around), but I’m pretty happy with it. Let me know if I missed something.
  9. A few mor things done. Finished off the helmet interior and some final sewing. Thigh garter done. Shoulder straps. Elastic. I had my wife sew up these little white nylon tabs with a loop. I added Velcro to the backs of these and to the inside of my belt. Wired the nylon tabs to the small Spanish pouches. For the helmet I lined most of the interior with Velcro and added fans. The fans are Henry’s fans from Trooperbay. I didn’t bother with the switches and I don’t need the extra long wire. I added some weather stripping to help dampen sound (they kind of rest on the hovi mic bumps). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. DLT-19 upgrade. Since I want to also have the option of trooping as the cantina captain, I guess I need to dirty-up my DLT-19. I added some wire to the t tracks and added a bit of weathering. The DLT-19 is a 3D print I put together last year - it was actually the first thing related to the 501st that I built. This was my gateway build. Used dremel to make some notches in t-tracks. Installed wire. I used 19 gauge black wire. Might be a little thin but it is what I had on hand. Reference from Looksirdroids website. Light wash of light brown paint. It does not show up very well in photos.
  11. Thanks!! I'm glad it helped. Troopers helping troopers.
  12. Darker lens and s-trim installed. Need to add some fans. More ear trimming. Baby steps. Yeah, I could probably stand to trim a bit more off. Compare pics after and before distressing the MP40 pouches. I used 220 and 600 grit sandpaper and a wire brush. Distressing small Spanish pouches. After and before. I roughed up the pauldron but the effect does not really show very well in photos, so I won’t show that. Pauldron after some black and brown paint washes. Boots got brown and dark grey washes. Everything got a few light coats of a dark grey/ sandy colour. I have pouches for both versions of the docking bay capt and cantina capt - so I should be good for whatever. Backpack #3 from CrookKnight should be shipping anytime now.
  13. Yeah, this was my first time wearing the thin lens. I can totally see my eyes in the pic. I agree, screen accurate or not, I’m putting in the dark lens.
  14. Your paint detailing is spot on. Impressive!
  15. First test fit with the weathering and pauldron. Still need to make my thigh garter (temp setup being used) and proper shoulder straps. And yes, those are my dancing shoes (need to weather boots, pauldron, and pouches). I didn’t bother with the pouches but the wife snapped a few pics of the fitting so I tried some poses. Daniel, I was in a hurry and totally botched the pose. Next time And I need to finish the T-21. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Took some pictures in the sunlight. It knocks down the weathering a bit. I'm glad I went heavier with the weathering than I planned. By the way, do most TDs use the thinner green acetate lens or the heavier, darker lens (like from Trooperbay)? I have the thinner lens in there now as I believe that is more screen accurate but it seems it would be pretty easy for people to see my eyes - even with my balaclava on. 17. Hey Hausi, how is this? Does the back of the ear have the same gap? Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
