  1. PM sent for Police Officer certificate Scott Duncan TD-92698 Deployment Date: 4/7/2018 plainsrunner@gmail.com
  2. Oh...and I have some touching up to do around the lenses obviously. It's easy to get something like this 95% of the way. That extra 5% is what takes time.
  3. Have to add the finishing touches (knob and strap) but here is the weathered version of my binoculars. I tried to make it obvious they were worn and dirty, but not overdo it so that it's unrealistic:
  4. Just kidding guys. That is actually my wedding date. I chose my 501st number to be the same in honor of my wife. She got into cosplay and encouraged me to save up and get the armor and join the 501st so I picked out my legion ID to match our date.
  5. Oh yeah... I haven't even trooped yet and here you go: 92698
  6. I'm the new guy here (FNG), but I would vote either in favor of the desert German/Nazi style hats like Asher posted above (with a patch or pin or some sort on them), or desert style boonies with a patch or pin on them. Come to think of it, sterling silver pins that look like our badge would be cool. Small ones that go in the middle. The Empire was stylized after the Nazis after all.
  7. Woo hoo! Thanks! Very excited! Wondering if I should use my action shot I posted above. It's a pretty good one.
  8. Ok....here it goes. Already showed the added snap and the toned down back plate. Here is the final piece:
  9. Good to know! I will use that technique if I go to completely re-weather the armor for SWAT down the road. On the back i don’t think I did much damage because I wasn’t trying to completely remove it—I just took a bit off the top. Just very light on top of the heaviest places. Completely rework would be tedious and more abrasive with sand paper so I’ll use the denatured alcohol for that in the future.
  10. Anyone got a good picture of how your DLT wires are attached? Like how the wires are terminated? Are they tied together or just at the right length?
  11. Well.... the RS canteen isn't a real canteen. It's a resin facsimile. Close inspection revealed that I really can't open it up and eliminate that portion. I'm going to have to build another canteen completely. I'll go out and get the wire for the DLT, the paint for a canteen, and the snaps and install hardware for the snap sometime today hopefully.
  12. It's cool. I'm just going to go with similar local snaps. No way I want to wait for a darn snap to ship from overseas. That is unless it's required to match......
  13. Ok so weathering has been toned down on the back. I messaged a couple of you wondering about the RS weathering and how to remove it, but some fine grit sandpaper did the trick. This fills me with hope about reworking some of the weathering later on for SWAT if I decide to do it.
  14. Just have to put some dirt on them (Fullers), mount the screw, use some filler on some details and touch up a few places. It's getting there!
  15. Essentially keeping the straps from sliding along the belt? Am I reading that right?
  16. Disclaimer: That back picture in the initial post makes me look like the hunchback of Notre-Dame. It's because it was taken the first few times I wore the armor and I was totally walking on eggshells afraid I was going to break something. LOL. I'm tight as a drum in that picture. I could squeeze coal into a diamond. I've sense relaxed.
  17. The lower 4 photos are codpiece and the associated strapping (and butt piece where it meets)
  18. I'm looking at this canteen trying to figure out if I have the guts to modify it since they built it for me like this. Hmmm... the cap needs to be removed for PO deployment? Edit: I guess I'm trying to figure out if this is a real canteen they have here, or their own molded facsimile. If it's real I should be able to pop the bottom off the same that you did in your tutorial. If it's not I could do damage to it.
  19. Yep. The pack came from them. However, I have everything in for my alternate pack build except for the Woodman. I can already tell it will be bigger.
  20. I will weather the other one when I get the wires attached to fully bring it up to speed.
