  1. Btw -- do you think this three port would be too big to fit in the bucket? Link I ask because by my count I'm going to have the bracket fans, possibly two extra fans, and also hearing assist. Edit: or I suppose I can figure out how to get all the fans on the same charging port to bring that need down to 2 ports total.
  2. OH right! You are correct. And the phone pairing does work very well with it. Thanks for the correction. It's a tad difficult envisioning and preparing all of this without the armor yet in hand. I'm going to perhaps get a spare lipstick for the TkTalkie as I know that when I go with my wife to these big conventions she's going to want to walk around all day long. It would be smart to have 2 of them so I can swap out if it runs out of juice. The other battery is probably smart due to all the possible fans needed. I have the bracket but I bet I will add two more fans if I had to guess. I tend to be hot natured and will burn alive in that thing.
  3. Thanks m4vrick! This is kind of a cool side project for my brother and me to work on. You are right the primary project right now is receiving and tweaking my armor (which seems to be snagged in customs right now), outfitting my bucket with electronics before trooping, and building that backpack so I can advance in rank.
  4. Hey wow! Look at that! UPS has again stopped my packages for address verification by the clearing agency. Says it may be delayed. Give me a break. I can't wait for it to get out of that country!!!!!! No offense to the many Brits here. Sheesh! Edit: I think this was stopped by customs. That at least makes me feel a little better. (at least the packages aren't lost).
  5. Ok... I think I have everything on order except for the bluetooth mic (my TkTalkie has the built in bluetooth). All of my stuff is powered by the 5v lipstick charger type devices. Any tips on installation of these lipstick batteries? I'm assuming on long troops you might need to easily be able to swap them out.
  6. Ok after chatting with UPS back and forth my packages have been located. They are finally moving again. Lost in a distribution center. Delivery Wednesday by end of day.
  7. Well.... I managed to get a real person on the line with UPS. It has to be a certain time elapsed before they will trace it. So I have to wait until midnight tonight to put a trace on the packages. She assured me that international mail usually only moves after 6:30pm. *looks at watch* 7:18 PM Tamworth time. No movement. No scan. No indication that they have even the slightest CLUE where my 3 rather large packages are. On the bright side, I ordered the helmet cooling kit from ukswrath late last week and it beat these packages to me. It also didn't get lost. Good old United States Postal Service.
  8. The bad thing is that their original tracking indicated a delivery today. RS Propmasters says they aren't sure why this is happening. They don't seem to see it that often. I'm seriously DONE with UPS after this. One too many mistakes the past year. I can't control what companies use, but I can sure as **** avoid using them to ship my stuff (which I do fairly regularly). They can't tell me anything about this, where it is, why it is delayed, etc. When I call I get someone tucked away in a third world country that can barely speak English parroting the same stupid non-information to me.
  9. So since the 'incorrectly sorted' status update on Friday night, my packages have not moved an inch. Last known scan was in England. It is mid afternoon over there and if they had simply been sent to the wrong distribution center they would be en route to the correct one by this point. I'm beginning to suspect that UPS has lost them. Contacting UPS does nothing because they just parrot the same status back to you. This is a LOT of money to be freaking LOST. I'm NOT a happy camper right now.
  10. Thank you! That's the insight I was hoping for. I'll order the wireless mic and the hearing assist now. I already have a lipstick tube style power brick, the TkTalkie, and the Amp ready to go. The radio chatter is great, and I love that you can just talk over it with TkTalkie. Seems very realistic.
  11. I know this varies by personal tastes, but I'm trying to sort out how to equip my bucket. I have a TKTalkie system with the anker amp. It works and sounds great pre-install. I just ordered my ukswrath fan bracket system. I haven't done anything about hearing assist yet. I've seen some people put the tktalkie system in their radio housing for background chatter. I know some use the hovi tip speakers instead. For someone just starting out the options are a bit overwhelming when wanting to get a clean of an install as possible. Any tips or pointers?
  12. No build to start on the armor. This is a full commission. I suppose there will be adjustments, and I'm going to try to adjust towards progressing in rank. I'm going to build a pack, so there is that. I hope to be active in the 'Tour of Duty' section though.
  13. My packages were scheduled to arrive Monday, but at some point in the night on Friday night I got a *delayed* notification on the UPS site saying they had been incorrectly sorted resulting in a delay. They haven't moved since.
  14. Weathered strap. Hung out to dry for a while.... They don't tell you how to get the vinegar smell out of it though.... blech!
  15. UPDATE: Got an email this morning. My packages will be leaving there today. So for those of you who browse the forums before/while you wait for your orders to come in: they sometimes print the UPS labels out a day or two before they ship. I suppose with multiple boxes and everything it takes a couple days to get it all together. So if you are waiting on an RS Propmasters order, the UPS ship notification email is the first indication that you are about to ship. It may take a day or two after you get the email to start moving. Super excited!
  16. Well, I could call them but I don't want to bother them. They look like a small shop and I don't want to be 'that guy' badgering them. I sent them an email yesterday morning asking about the ship notification and the fact that it hasn't moved and my status hasn't changed, but I haven't heard anything back. I suppose I'll just wait. The UPS ship notification came to me about 4 am central time on Wednesday morning. My RS Propmasters order status hasn't changed (still Processing) in their system. And the UPS status still reads "Order Processed: Ready for UPS". I can only conclude that they printed a label for the packages in error, or something happened that caused them to have to fix something, etc and not ship it out when they thought they were going to.
  17. Did it turn out being a prematurely printed out UPS notification, or did it just not make it into UPS' system for tracking?
  18. Just trying to figure out when to arrange to be home to receive delivery. The original notification a day and a half ago said the delivery was Friday. Since then the status has remained on Awaiting UPS.... so I guess they didn't ship when anticipated. Someone printed the labels a b it early or something.
  19. Hmmm.... so my packages haven't moved past the waiting on ups stage and my order status hasn't changed.
  20. Do you see what I see? Yes. Those are Sterling Machine Gun parts. I am getting a resin Blaster from RS, but my brother and I decided it would be very cool to make a blaster out of an actual Sterling. If it works out, I'll be posting progress photos in this thread. A friend of the family does really good mig welding, and my brother is an excellent fabricator and modeler. Should be an interesting project! Stay tuned!
  21. Guys.... I just got a UPS ship notification from RS Studios LTD.
  22. tick......... tock........ Tick...........Tock.........TICK.........TOCK..............T I C K................T O C K I can hear every tick and tock. LMAO
  23. Thanks! He is hooking me up with everything else I need except the filter, which I think I'll have to build.
  24. RS Propmasters commission vigil week 5. I have thus far resisted temptation to further contact them. The information on their site is sparse on what type of armor they are currently working on. The suspense is killing me but I'm remaining patient. I've been busying myself gathering backpack components, accessories, etc. I'm an instant gratification type of guy so this might be the most patient I've been in my entire life.
