  1. interesting that his came with only one. Any one knows what kind of snaps RS use? I can understand Scott would want a "pretty similar" kind of snaps he has. I have already msged @ross8008 on this.
  2. I like it better. Great job. Weathering is always a personal preference; but echoing the boss: “less is more” (echooo... echooo... echooo...).
  3. Hi Scott.. some of the pointers our friends here had given will make you look even better. Wish you had taken the pictures with your 2 mp40 pouches though although not required for PO. Stand by for your review mate. Enjoy...
  4. too kind @RoCKo thanks for the recommendation sir !
  5. Only Sandtroopers understand the importance of water jugs in every day life, & for the backpacks. So today is the Tupperware part a.k.a radar dish in backpacks. But which one among the two? Which size? Managed to get two of these for comparison. Exhibit A & B: Some indentations at the bottom. Same for both A & B: 4.4 inch = 11,176 cm 5.25 inch = 13,335 cm To me, A here is the more accurate one. B just seems a little bit too big. A doesn't necessarily be in that brownish color as i've seen them in white too. But please do make sure of the measurements. I am not saying these are the EXACT screen used ones, i don't know how many Tupperware variations they have in the 1970s; but they are "close to screen accurate". So troopers, the next time you get yourself one of these water jugs, do call me and send it to me lol .. OR keep it for your backpack. It's "vintage".
  6. Sigh... but wow! Come on... own up! Which one of you got it lol
  7. It has to be someone from MEPD lol... i am 90% sure of it! Only sandies are that crazy to pay a lot for a toilet part
  8. Yupe he cant seem to get any PMs from any one.
  9. Hey @LoveMonkey, same goes to our friend here @dirtydave. He can't seem to PM. Some help please? Thanks
  10. I'll be reverting back to the trapezoid frames. Found a reference that convinced me the other way: Assumption: battle of hoth. NOTE: easy to fool the eyes that it's a rectangular one. Reference: In the battle of Hoth, in some of the references (courtesy of @RoCKo) in at least 3 instances along with this one, i saw that again and again it's the trapezoid ones. Only logical that these were the frames, recycled from ANH. But this is a weak assumption. The 2nd reference though completely convinced that it is indeed the trapezoid one. What do you guys think? Either way, i'm keeping both frames
  11. John, these people are here to help you. This SWAT program is an ever-evolving program and it should be. As you probably know, alley check captain and cantina captain both wear the same armor. For example, I know there’s that recent discovery of that one white tape on alley check captain’s back bicep. Will that be added to a SWAT requirement, that’s the panelists to decide. For me, i know i will add that detail to mine. As what i’ve said before, even your backpack has some details that mine’s missing. For sure John, once you’ve completed this process, i believe you will be the most detailed SWAT trooper around. (Until someone does better )
  12. 2. I believe those are just slings of the Karrimors. 3. Yupe those are rings and the Karrimors come with them:
  13. The said backpack stripped off. Point of interest: the karrimor backpacks come with 3 red stripes. Looking at the screens, and judging by how top part of the frame must be cut off, i say only 2 of the red straps were used. Note of the rings...
  14. Interesting... those bidding on the siphon, do note of how it’s white at the bottom (start of the hose). Be sure to ask if it’s removable... caveat emptor
  15. Felix welcome back brother! You know i’ve been following your build in your fb, and this build of yours will be an epic one! About time you say something to us too .. now Urs, & Thomas don’t go easy on this guy lol...
  16. Sounds like it’ll be fun.. real sterling e11 building is a universe, every one should go check out. The bapty e11 is also another option if you want accuracy. You should check out this one guy though if you haven’t, Chris a.k.a Field Marshall. He is a great engineer, sells a lot of deactivated sterling parts, CNC s a lot of the Sterling parts too. But these are another departments/ universes Michael... now now let’s go back to finishing your backpack/ PO application shall we?
  17. Yes Rocko, i'm sure they do this (different from image to image part) just to mess with us. These are the ones i have lol.. i'm sure you won't want my red fabric cloth. You have a reputation to uphold Mr. Vintage.
  18. That's very kind of you John. This list from John will set you off nicely Darren.
  19. On the Brexton box tool box part, there was an interesting discussion on it on @Strider backpack build. It was however inconclusive as some were divided over it, lip or no lip, brexton box or not brexton box. IMO, the brexton box(es), were used. It all depends on which backpacks you are building. On your frustration over assembling the various parts for the backpack: trust me, the experience is part of it. I am from Jakarta, Indonesia. I have to deal with crazy custom fees, delays, etc. But to me, the end justify the means. What i must stress is the research, research, and research. Trust me, no ONE vendor gets everything in his catalog ALL correct parts. One vendor has one correct part, the other one has the better and more accurate part. Plus discoveries are being made everyday. Like for example recent cast of the Shires siphon from @ross8008. So, research is the key my friend, and don't pin your hope on just one vendor.
  20. Time to upgrade my backpack. These two babies just came through the mail. And i did particularly look for these two, to compare which one is more accurate? Picture: Left: Vintage Karrimor rucksack backpack. Label: "KP Karrimor product of Avenue Parade, Accrington, Lancs, England expressly for Blacks of Greenock Ltd, specialists in climbing & ski equipment". Bottom shape of the frame: rectangular.(item of interest) Right: Vintage Karrimor rucksack backpack karibou series. Bottom shape of the frame: trapezoid Measurement of Left Backpack: +/- 1.9cm = 0.75 inch (pardon me, i didn't bring my digital caliper then) Measurement of right backpack (a little thicker): +/- 1.95 cm = 0.76 inch So ANH scholars, which one is correct? Here is the reference: From the left: To me, these references tell 3 things: 1. The frame is perpendicular & aligned well with the shape of the seedtray, the silverish, unpainted bottom parts of the frame touch both of seedtrays edges, left. 2. The red cloth is clearly visible, with the bottom part of it unpainted, showing the frame's base silverish color. 3. Note of the ring (s) Conclusion: The backpack of interest, with it's back red straps + rectangular shape, makes sense. Thus, i will be upgrading my backpack with this one Karrimor frame. Constructive criticism welcomed. Please let me know what you guys think.
  21. Did you get the mortar tube from TT? If yes, one thing that i noticed was his was a little too long. I had to cut the length a little. & Hausi was correct on this mortar tube length part. Now what you have is a SWAT worthy backpack John. Mine is honestly missing some small details; but after learning from yours, i will surely add these up.
  22. SWAT Certificate 1.) Vincent William 2.) Your TD #17778 3.) Approved: 12/2/2018 4.) PM sent!
  23. Hello Rob, i think you've been gathering some accurate parts for your backpack. Just by scouring through ebay / amazon i can see a lot that you can use, bag straps wise (with clips). If you're going for SWAT, Karrimor frame is a requirement & with the Karrimor bags, come their original straps (with paddings). Hope this helps.
