  1. Attention MEPD, our very own Sandtrooper meet up is set! WHEN: Sunday, April 14th @ 9.30 AM (immediately after the main 501st group photo @ 9.00 AM). WHERE: Outside Gate 41 west building WHAT: 2019 Star Wars Celebration Chicago @Airborne Trooper will be the sole Command Staff representative at the celebration. Do check out the main topic in 501st forum as it may change from time to time. https://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=215&t=102127 Have fun! And move along... move along..
  2. Hello John, what you see is exactly like what @dutchy has. There have been other alternatives. Check this one out from Indonesia: the Lion Star. The generally accepted "accurate" ones are definitely the Gio Style from Italy.
  3. Good luck Paul! I love your weathering, not excessive.
  4. Grats! All the improvements the DO had asked definitely made you look better!
  5. Great. Decided then ? #MEPDSWCC19 it is
  6. Let's come up with that hashtag first then i'll make the announcement. I've thought of a few: #MEPDStarWarsCelebration #MEPDatSWCelebration2019 #MEPDSWCC2019 #MEPDSWC2019 What do you guys think ?
  7. I believe you're talking about this here: But new one has not been initiated ? Or has it ? @Gordonator
  8. Would like to know this as well... perhaps someone who had built, i believe 2 of them, like @bigwam be kind enough to give the measurements
  9. Great details.. i did count how many pipes should be in. Yours should be about right. Watching with interest....
  10. Thank you guys! Hoping i can bring great contributions for MEPD
  11. This will leave many with headaches John... great observation..
  12. I won't worry so much about the canteen's numbering, no reference for that, just sand it down. Don't forget to trim the length of the top part of the karrimor frame. Also the 5 ribs seedtrays need to open up a little. Well done on the bend btw!
  13. Great find John, another of the Sonix's sister. You know, if it's the same length, you can use the upper part of Woody's, which leaves you to design just the lower part that will fit the DYN.
  14. Watching this space. Welcome back!
  15. Many congratulations Andi, the SWAT bar has again been raised. Look at that chest weathering... First SWAT of 2019, congrats! Salute!
  16. So, you’re the nice guy @RicarduZonta 1. “Unusable battery pack” ? LOL. The battery pack was restored, radio’s now functional. Soooooo easy to do, no biggie.. 2. Usemark .. rather “battleworn” thank you very much. 3. “Missing port”? Yours look like it has an “extra” socket. So,buyers beware 4. And look.. what a curious looking antenna. Very nice of you to feel the need to “heap praises” on other’s to sell yours at higher price huh?
  17. Justus, & fellow Sandtroopers, i wish you all a happy christmas and may it be a merry one. Sincerely, your friend from Jakarta, Indonesia m4vrick
  18. German garrison again. The one country with no desert (i believe). Tsk tsk... awesome. Good luck !
  19. I demand FULL coverage of both of the builds! lol ... share the build mate
  20. I think it’s great that this similarity (extremely, very) leaves the community with choices. So it’s not a definite must that the Sonix is the one to hunt for. Thanks for this comparison Thomas
  21. Very cool bigwam, the fact that it's working is awesome. Looks to be in very very good condition too. Would you mount it on your backpack?
  22. Many thanks friends. Urs summed it up perfectly. More and more people are starting to realize what this is. Unfortunately, with that, the price comes along. But you know, as supply gets more and more, prices will definitely come down. In all, they're starting to resurface slowly. Don't give up!
  23. Hi guys, my BBB arrived safe and sound. I did ask the seller how he got hold of this. He said he got it from a memorabilia military auction, and there wasn't much competition as this was not much of a "military" item. I will look to restore its radio function as it was however non working. But i will leave the face (rust and all) as is. Battle worn For now, I shall not show what's inside of it as ...well, let's not spoil your appetite. And i think i will mount the Sonix on my backpack. Just have to figure out a way to get this firmly placed there without damaging its faux leather. No, i will not paint the radar piece black. I think i'll just cover it with a very thin black decal per my SWAT requirement. With mine, there's been 4 this past years. I think it's re-surfacing slowly. Don't give up hope ! Regards, m4vrick
  24. I think i kind of have some idea what's going on. I did comment on his PO post before. I suggest TD2190 to make peace with the deployment officers here first and foremost. They (Deployment Officers) do not do this for a living. In reviewing, when they receive PO / SWAT applications which are not as guide-lined, this waste both the DO's time & applicants'. So, read the PO guidelines properly, go one by one, line by line, with clear background, proper camera angles, & in high res as required. Also, get your 501st clearance first step, 2nd is PO, then SWAT. Commenting/ rather "criticizing" unnecessarily in people's threads doesn't help really.
