  1. Hi Bigwam,

Its been a year since i even looked a this, but as life gets some what back to normal would like to get it ticked off. I have made all the changes required and as you requested all you asked me to do is take another set of shots fully kitted. Can we pick it up from there or am i going to start all over again?

Finger's crossed we can just get this finalized from here but let me know, thanks buddy.

    Hi James,

I see you have improved a lot! Great

    - are the modifications on the pack done? (Labpipe, mortare tube, screw)

    - and i iss the pic with the rubber gloves

If all is done, show us a complete pic of you, thanks. :salute:

    Hey bigwam,

I have made the changes to the pack too, what i will do is take a full shot again in kit so you can see all together as requested. Theres been a few changes but its been fun.

  3. I have been a little busy but am working on the changes required for Armor issues, I have updated the sewn strap, changed belt pouches to leather & updated gloves. I have received the screws to emulate the original strapping and will do these next. That should wrap up armor fixes just leaving me with the backpack leather wrap on radio to do.

    - i miss the screws, that imitate the original strapping

    - the snap on the shoulder strap must be sewn

    - pouches on the belt must be made of leather. no canvas is allowed

    - gloves must be made complete of rubber

    Hello James,

Commonly used reference for the DLT19 is this one (attached).

I believe (don't quote me on this) that the wires reference on the DLT19 has been from this stormtrooper ANH death star scene.

So it should be dark, black it is.

    Hope this helps

Thanks for the clarification, i can get this done quickly and ticked off, appreciate the feedback and images.

    James,

First of all, there are 6 kinds of backpacks for sandtroopers:

    http://www.looksirdroids.com/backpacks.html

I assume you are doing the commonly made backpack? #3 Move along?

Again, from reference, what i circled on the top will show you the Sonix's strap is actually taken off. Circled on the bottom will show you that silverish wire. So yes, wire is used.

Sorry for not highlighting which pack but you are right with pack #3, thanks for the clarification will do wire, thanks again.

  6. Hi All,

Just a quick question just making some tweaks to my pack for approval and have been asked to put leather strap around radio. Looking at other pics and builds looks like most do a wire, can i get some feedback on which is correct, thanks all.

    Hello James,

We have written above what we need for an appraisal everything.
If you can not open the links I posted to you, then say so. I will gladly post it here again.
It starts with the introduction, it looks like this:

TD - **** (your TD ID) Requesting Deployment

    And then the following:

    Your name

Your 501st TD ID with a link to your 501st profile

    Your MEPD forum  name

    Your Garrison

Then there are a number of pictures we need to check and confirm the level 2 requirement.
Here is the list, which is also in the link:

And, post the following pictures of your armor and gear:

-One helmet off photo. This is not a random picture of you. It is to be a photo of you, in costume, without your helmet on. A mug shot if you want.

One full armor, helmet on, front photo. Show in your picture the whole look of your armor and gear. So show Sniper Knee Plate clearly enough.

One full armor, helmet on, right side photo. Showing the pouches mounted on sides.

One full armor, helmet on, left side photo. Showing the pouches mounted on sides.

One full armor, helmet on, back photo.

-One full armor, helmet on, back photo without backpack.

-Canvas or elastic shoulder straps detail photo.

-Canvas belt detail photo with pouches.

-Abs details close up photo. Showing the 3 buttons on TD abdominal plate.

-Detail photos of the rubber gloves and latex handguards

    - Detail photos of all snaps, screws and buttons on the armor.

Bucket (pictures can show details individually or in groups):

-A close up photo showing the flat green lenses.

Detail photo showing no stripes on all gray traps and tears.

Detail photo of a frown showing 4 teeth cut out and gray paint.

Detail photo of hovi-mix mic tips (or replica) mounted on helmet.

Detail photos of blue tube stripes.

    Backpack:

    - Detail photos from all sides, separately

     Weapons:

-At leas one picture showing the whole weapon (BFG or E11).

-Detail pictures of mods required for the specific weapons.

You'll notice for yourself now -  there's a lot missing!
We can only process your application if everything - as shown in the list - is shown here.

    Best Regards bigwam

    Thanks Bigwan

I have gone through each pic as you listed and added heading to align with requirement, hopefully this is better. I will add pics of backpack all angles and snaps and buttons this weekend

    Appreciate the help

  9. Hi All, James here from Southern Cross Garrison, TK90673 i have also had my Sandtrooper 501st approved but have decided to get organised and get PO deployment. Can anyone point me in the process! do i have to apply for a TD number independantly of my TK number?

I have the pics from my 501st submission, just need a few other shots and will request. Thanks all

  10. Hi All,  i am currently on my second build, i ran 2 at once one TK and then ran a TD build parallel. Going through all the CRL's and points of making the Sandy just right. Thought what better place to post than on the forum where real troops are! LOL

I love the Sandtrooper as to me that was my real introduction to the Star Wars story with the troops on the ground doing the dirty work! looking at the extra effort to get the armor right with weathering is just awesome!

I will post some pics of build and process and as i get close to finish, want to go for SWAT eventually so any feedback and comments are welcomed. how does everyone post images on here, best method?
