  1. Additionally there is the high labpipe as well, so I guess we can assume that there will also be tape holding the bottom seedtrays together... and there should also be the small gap at the top, where the one seedtray has slid down.
  2. Hey John, I have just watched the scenes on the bluray another time And here we go: Although the pic might be a little blurry, one can clearly identify the crooked plunger on top of the bottle, the crooked cap on top of the mortar tube... as well as the tape on the box. This is your pack.
  3. Are you kidding me? Wow, that's awesome, well done mate! Where have you found it ...and how much did you have to pay?
  4. Yeah, go for it mate! Looking forward to watching this build, I just love building helmets! Your ATA looked very good too.
  5. Hey John, nice to see your progress, pack already is a beauty but as bigwam has pointed out, there are a few easy fixes to do. Give us some time to discuss the tape on the lower trays.
  6. Nice work mate Guess you could sand that butt stock some more, still looks a little boxy. Using an angle grinder with a sanding bit has done the job for me.
  7. Yep, can´t find the positive at the moment but still have the negative as I have cut it out of a piece of thick cardboard. Will PM you.
  8. Hey fellow dirty dudes, I have almost finished my Tunisian DLT. As there are already quite a few build threads, I´ll cut it short, I got the templates from my friend bigwam/Thomas, the barrel is a resin cast from a real sterling which I purchased from a 501st member in Spain. The grips are from Latvia, probably the same as Jcalus/Jon has used for his build. Just as bigwam and Heroma I have glued three pieces of wood together and after a lot of sanding it looked like this: I had to cut the front part apart and added an aluminum dowel the dowel, triggerguard and some greeblies that you normally find on the barrel of the original MG34 before spraypainting the wood, I used this to avoid wood shining through as soon as the part gets its first battledammage soaks into the wood and looks like this afterwards, you can also see in the picture that I´ve added a thread which was screwed into the wood for the wooden cocking lever. After painting the barrel gunmetal, I gave it a wash with a thick mixture of water and acrylic brown and black to emulate the bluing: most of it is dabbed of almost immediately after applying it. T-tracks spraypainted black and finally used Rub´n Buff silver leaf to finish it off and give it that used look: added the wire and here´s the (almost) finished product next pic was taken with the flash on, colour looks different and the bluing effect is more noticeable: I´m thinking about adding some rust and finally giving it a wash with some earth colour... or better leave it the way it is? What do you think?
  9. I don't know what "sides" you are talking about, maybe you can add a poc. In general it's a good idea to have a look at the PO applications first, one of the mandatory pictures has to show the inside of the armor and the strapping method used, either screenused brackets or snaps. Using velcro is actually only acceptable for the shins, furthermore it's not remmendable on othe parts as it has to take quite a lot of abuse when trooping and snaps are just more reliable.
  10. There shouldn't be a gap, but as soon as you have added the internal strapping connecting your backplate and kidney that should solve the problem anyway. I also think that the kidney and butt are too low right now, when you pull them up slightly while pushing the backplate down by flattening those shoulder parts on your backplate and adding slightly longer elastics connecting chest and back, it should turn out just fine.
  11. The gap is definitely too big, also for basic approval. Keep in mind that you will have to achieve PO status first before going for SWAT and you will need a field pack for PO, and with the current shape of your shoulder pieces, wearing that pack would be very uncomfortable. Heating up and flattening the shoulder pieces as Revolver Ocelot has said, is a good idea, but be very careful with the heat gun.
  12. As far as the ears are concerned, just remember: gaps are screenaccurate I even had to make that gap larger for SWAT. So don't worry to much about it, show us a picture of your first attempt maybe it's okay and you can use them... RS sometimes takes quite long to ship new parts.
  13. Hi Paul and welcome to the MEPD, you're the one with those awesome selfmade pouches, aren't you? Keep up the great work and start a build thread here as well, cheers mate

  18. Hi Michael, all changes are looking good, nice work! But I still need to see one pic of the dirtier shoulder elastics, then I can do your final review asap.
  19. I completely agree with Michael, nice work!...and so cool to find our pics in it
  20. Hey Tom, first of all, don't be disappointed, you have been approved and your one of us now, so enjoy that feeling! The process of becoming deployed as a Police Officer might not be easy, but it will finally be worth it. Before you change anything about the butt-joint and coverstrip method you have used, wait until we have decided if there is an acceptable way to change your existing armor without replacing complete parts. Some other changes you will have to make is rounding off the corners of your shoulder bells and making them stand out by adding some foam padding on the inside. You will also have to add the so-called shims to close the gaps between your abdomen and kidney pieces. The holster is pulling your belt down on one side, you have to adjust it for possible future approval pics. Another thing is that we will have to see some closeups of your helmet, e.g. the ears shouldn't be attached using screws. But many of the necessary changes mentioned will probably be pretty easy, so don't worry to much about it. Cheers mate!
