  1. Yeah, gap doesn't look as big from this perspective, but could still be slightly smaller, might also give you a wider range of motion, especially for the hands but as long as it works for you
  2. You don't even need a pack to apply for basic approval but if it's present, your GML will probably have a closer look at it. Only thing I can see right now is that the gap between the forearm and biceps on your left arm looks a little big. Nice wearhering Good luck with your approval!
  3. If the brow isn't too low that shouldn't hinder your PO approval, same goes for the number of teeth, both, six or eight are perfectly fine, this only is of interest if you decide to go for SWAT and want to emulate a specific trooper. Everything else is looking good, the position of the sniperplate too, only exception is the gap between the biceps and the forearms, too much black visible, try to shorten your strapping a little bit. Maybe you can pull the biceps down a tiny bit. It would also be better if the gap between the shoulder bells and the chest was smaller.
  4. Wow, looks very tidy, nice work!
  5. Thanks guys Ben, if you like, we can take turns carrying it around... might get quite heavy!
  6. Nice work Damon, looks great! Now I will also have to paint that pauldron
  7. So I have finally more or less finished my R2 head. It came with the bottom part that allows it to spin if there is a body. Now mine of course needs no body but I have added this part anyway as it adds stability and just gives it the right look. I had to find a way to attach it and just took some pieces of wood in which I could drill some screws, the whole interior was then spraypainted matte black and I added some black ABS plates on top of the wood so it wouldn´t be too obvious that it is wood. I then added various hoses and cables I found at my local DIY store to make it look functional but still keep it as lightweight as possible as I´m planning to carry this little sucker around when trooping. When everything was installed, it was time for our number one requirement, get dirty!!! So I used some matte black spraypaint for the hoses and cables and immediately wiped it off again, I gave the outside of the dome a black wash first, followed by a wash with some sand colored paint. Oh and I almost forgot, I have even added a remote controlled ligth which can switch colors and even has some flash effects, btw it´s a simple and cheap waterproof light originally intended to be used in a garden pond. I have also added a leg for a table and a leash to have some options to carry it around. I know, it´s huge... but I am a very happy dirty dude!

  11. Great pics! Good idea with the net to carry it around, although I would have loved to see a spine, would definitely add to the bad-ass/gore factor!
  12. I guess most people scratchbuilding their blasters use various different types of screws. If you want yours to be as screenaccurate as possible, search on google for the lewis gun machine gun, which, - with some greeblies added-the used in ANH and try to find some similar screws to the ones the original manufacturers of the Lewis Gun used.
  13. Too many of those Jawas, get'em, bros! Nice pics!
  14. Hey mate, I also have the RWA Syphon and here's how I have assembled it: You can find some build threads on the number 5 pack, here's one of them: You should also have a look at this site: https://tk386.com/backpacks/
  15. Yeah I know, there is one trooper that I know off who was deployed with the French pouch. That was our fault, we, the deployment officers, just missed that detail and later on our detachment leader Dutchy pointed it out to us. And he's right, no such pouches were used in the movie although I have to admit that I like the style of the French pouches and they are more easily available than e.g. real leather "Stolla Wien" pouches. But we are all striving for a high level of accuracy, so I hope you can understand. But as I hear that you have already got some new Pouches on order, I guess we are on the same wavelength.
  16. This is so cool mate!!! Already looks great in gold. I know that some of the 3PO builders apply some woodglue to achieve a certain effect to dull down the gold shine, but as yours isn't as shiny, I guess you can directly give it a wash with black and finally a wash with some light brown sand colour, I always use Vallejo model colour earth to achieve that sandy effect. Go for it! p. s. why not have one of his eyes hanging out of its socket on some wires!? That would be gnarly
  17. The position of the snaps is not going to be a problem. As long as your ammobelt is at the correct height, it's all fine
  18. As I consider SWAT to be a process that never ends, I think there is always room to improve one´s gear. After our latest SWAT officer M4VRICK has raised the bar quite a lot, I had to make some adjustments to my armor: There is one line of weathering on the abdomen that supposedly was created while the armor was weathered with the ammobelt attached and later, during filming the belt has obviously slipped down (this can actually be seen on several troopers from ANH). So I tried to emulate this specific detail too: one other detail was actually discovered by our own Felice/Felix, it is the tape holding together the left biceps at the back: ...and I just like all those little imperfections the original suits had because of all the wear and tear they had to go through, so I just had to add this detail as well always striving for the highest level of accuracy... that´s the fun of it Cheers mates
  19. Hey Stephen, welcome and thank you for your interest in becoming an MEPD deployed officer! You have made those first changes quite swiftly, thanks for that. So here we go with your first review: Application Review: Part 1 Name: Stephen Whaley Legion ID: TD-89161 Forum Name: Olympus Garrison: Midsouth Garrison Helmet a. Green lenses: check b. Paint color of traps / tears: check c. Correct number of teeth: check d. Mic tips: check e. Vocoder color: check f. Tube stripes: check g. Rank bar on ears: check h. Brow: check i. Side screws (ears): check j. Weathering: check *additional comments* Nice work here, maybe a tad bit dirty …but hey, we do the Empire´s dirty work, so go for it! RESULT ON HELMET Checked & Cleared Armor details a. elastic straps shoulders: check b. neck seal: check c. black undersuit: check d. shoulder bells: check e. biceps: check f. forearms: check g. pauldron: check h. chest / back plate: see comments i. kidney / butt plate: check j. ab plate / side rivets / cod: check k. strapping system: check l. thighs: check m. shins / calves: check n. sniper plate: check o. boots: check p. gloves: check q. hand plates / guards: check r. ammo belt (waist): check s. ammo belt (right knee): see comments t. canvas belt: check u. pouches: see comments v. weathering: check *additional comments* back: please show me a picture of your back without the pack. ammobelt (knee): your knee ammobelt doesn´t have the right shape at the bottom corners, here´s a picture of what I am talking about, so please sand both bottom corners down to achieve the recommended shape. pouches: as our detachment leader Dutchy has pointed out, the French pouches aren´t acceptable for PO. I know that they are quite practical to store a cell phone in them but for deployment you will have to find some other pouches, either “Stolla Wien” replicas (maybe even real ones) or small, medium or large Spanish pouches. Here are some pictures of what they should look like: RESULT ON ARMOR pending Backpack a. details: see comments b. weathering: check *additional comments* Your new radio looks great but there was one detail that slipped my attention, your Tupperware box is mounted the wrong way: the lid should actually be attached to the seedtray. RESULT ON BACKPACK pending Weapon a. details: see comments b. weathering: check *additional comments* You have cut down the little pipe emulating the front sight on your T-21, but I´m still not happy with it… try to emulate the shape of the original front sight, it doesn´t have to be a perfect copy, just a little closer than what you have right now. You can for example take a piece of wood and cut or sand it to a similar shape. I for example have used some pieces of plastic and a dremel to achieve the look of it. RESULT ON WEAPON pending Stephen, this was your first review! Keep up the good work, those changes aren´t too difficult. I´m looking forward to seeing some new pics of your improved gear soon. Cheers mate Hausi - MEPD Deployment Officer
