  1. Hi everyone, as some of you might have already suspected, I am following in the footsteps of my friend Bigwam/Thomas and have built my own Sterling-based Bapty E-11 with the back end and grip that Thomas has casted and believe me, he and his son Martin have done such an awesome job. Those parts just feel right ! I will not cover the building process as Thomas has already done that in his own thread... I am just going to show you the final product, here it is: The scope is a real vintage 1943 M38 scope, the Hengstler counter is also a real vintage counter with a genuine metal box. Those powercylinders are Fieldmarshall parts. Also: real wood in the mag. I also added a wash with some watered down Vallejo game colour Earth to emulate some sandy dust. And finally the picture of the holy trinity From top to bottom: Doopymod Bapty with real Henstler and real mag Imperial Warfighters´ rubber foam Bapty and the real deal Bapty at the bottom Cheers mates
  2. Thank you! You are right, skating since 95 and still going. Well get that board and get out there before winter hits us hard mate! "Ban this" is great but I prefer "Future Primitive".

  5. Hey Eric, all is fine with your boots, no need to replace them. As far as the DLT is concerned, you are right, you will need the wire around the T-tracks. Everything else on that blaster is good to go. Man, am I glad to see that you are armed! So I´ll be waiting for you to finish the rest. Cheers mate
  6. Hi Eric, welcome and thank you for your interest in becoming an MEPD deployed officer! Man you are one dirty trooper, I like it! I am sorry that the forum security software won´t let you write your last name. Thanks for your tidy application, I have (almost) all the pictures I need. So let´s get your review started mate. The issue with the shoes addressed by Tiny seems to be part of the lighting playing tricks on our eyes and making it look like you are wearing some plateau soles. I do have to admit that the soles look quite thick but going through my reference pics I think that they used different shoes on set in Tunisia and Elstree Studios, thinner soles in Tunisia and thicker soles in London. To me it seems that the screws in the bottom return edge of your chest are a little too far apart but I´m going to let this pass. Shoulderstraps: please dirty them up, they seem to be completely white and form a stark contrast to the rest of your pretty dirty armor. Codpiece: instead of a snap, you use a rivet here: Knee ammo belt: the shape seems to be wrong, there shouldn´t be a curved shape at the top where the rivet is but a clean 90 degree angle: RESULT ON ARMOR pending Backpack a. details: see comments b. weathering: check *additional comments* A very cool pack! But as was pointed out before, the Tupperware Stow n Go box looks strange with that cable (just being curious: what kind of electronics do you have in there?) so please turn it around so it is less visible. I don´t like the bottle so much that is supposed to look like the Gio´Style bottle. As it isn´t that hard to find a better replacement and there is even someone who offers them on the forum, I would suggest getting a new one. But this is just a recommendation, the present one will work for PO. RESULT ON BACKPACK pending Weapon a. details: see comments b. weathering: see comments *additional comments* Seriously mate? 8. Hi Darren, those were some swift improvements, great job mate! What did you put on the shoulderbell? Weathered chewing gum? Just kidding That will work. The only thing I just noticed while overlooking it in my first review is that your shoulderpouch is still way too clean... still got some left-over fullers earth? Make that pouch dirty!
  9. Hi Darren, welcome and thank you again for your interest in becoming an MEPD deployed officer! I was actually waiting for some more pictures but you can also add them after the first review, so let´s get this started Application Review: Part 1 Name: Darren Thorne Legion ID: TD-16473 Forum Name: DT_FETT_TROOPER Garrison: UK Garrison Helmet a. As I have already said before, your weathering is really cool, you did a great job mate. Back: please show me a picture of you wearing the armor without the pack. Shoulderbells: I already mentioned this in my very first post in your thread: decals are not allowed. I have since started a new thread advertising a new idea: wearing arm bands that can easily be taken off again for canon events. Another idea is simply getting a new plain bell. Please show me a picture in which you are wearing the armor without decals on the shoulder bell. RESULT ON ARMOR pending Backpack a. details: check b. weathering: check *additional comments* Nice pack! I´m jealous of that Shires syphon of yours. The five cylinders on the original #3 pack look slightly different than the ones you have used but that is a detail that only counts should you consider going for SWAT. For this purpose I would also suggest adding a black disc as a backing for your sunshine Tupperware lid/radardish. RESULT ON BACKPACK Checked & Cleared Weapon a. details: check b. weathering: check *additional comments* That is one highly detailed DLT 19, amazing. As an additional comment, besides the usual wear and tear which you have successfully emulated, you might also want to consider giving it a wash with some sandy colour. 10. Hey Rodrigo, sorry mate, I don't have any pictures because I didn't need a pack for SWAT and on my PO pack the seedtrays are just screwed together. @bigwam maybe you can help?
  11. Hi my fellow dirty dudes, thought I´d share this with you, we have formed a new dirty squad of Sandtroopers within the German Garrison, call ourselves "Rancor Hunters", a member of the squad has designed the logo for us (thanks Chris!) and we already have some patches and apparel going. the thing on the left is an armband that can be worn over the shoulder bell like this: this allows us to go back to screenaccurate whenever a canon event demands for it. Might also be an idea for other squads and garrisons to avoid pealing off stickers when applying for PO or SWAT here at the MEPD. Hope my other squad mates chime in here too and show their armbands.
  12. Hey guys, me again with another helmet, this time I took a DA props/shed of glittering delight HDPE helmet and build it to be a "Move along" helmet which has seen quite a lot of action in the sandy dunes of Tatooine. So this is more like a fun side project, not completely on SWAT level. I have just emphasized the typical characteristic elements of this specific helmet, exaggerating the sleepy-eyes-look of this iconic helmet and enlarging the cracks where the original HDPE is showing. Because it looks quite worn-down, I have called it "The Thrasher", a tribute to my favourite Skateboard Mag. I´m even thinking about wearing it while skating once. It will definitely stand the thrashin´it would take, very sturdy helmets, those DA HDPE helmets. So here are some pics (many of them show the helmet next to my self-built RS helmet for reference): And finally dirty: I just love working on HDPE helmets, so much fun... And here´s a pic of me wearing it at the last event I participated in:
  13. Please also add some detail pics of your DLT, looks very good but I will need to see the so called disc greebly. Thanks Darren
  14. Hi Darren, Thanks for your interest in becoming an MEPD deployed officer, your gear looks great, love the weathering! Please just ignore any inappropriate comments, when applying for PO you are of course allowed to wear different pauldrons as this isn't SWAT yet and you aren't emulating a specific trooper. I know that the UKG really appreciates their stickers on the shoulder bell but as we here at the MEPD try to be as screenaccurate as possible, you might want to get an extra bell without the sticker or remove it for your application. I for one can completely understand what that sticker means to you but just as an idea, some of us have come up with the idea of wearing armbands with patches and if there is a canon event, we are able to take them off again (will be posting a separate thread for this soon). Please also show us a picture of your back while not wearing the pack. I'll be doing your review asap, keep up the good work!
  15. There are different possibilities, when going for SWAT there shouldn't be any visible screws, some people just glue them together using E6000, others use zip ties that are attached to the frame and go through both seedtrays and some people have build some kind of frame that goes inside the seedtrays and that everything (also the accessories) is screwed into.
  16. Hi Greg, thank you for your interest in becoming an MEPD deployed officer. I can only agree with Tiny, this is really what an application should look like, nice and tidy and some good high-resolution pics. Great work already! 18. Hi Greg, great to see your application here! Could you please add a pic of your back without the pack? Then I will start your review asap.
  19. Which would be screen accurate, so go for it!
  20. Hi Bones, That looks really cool mate! Having the original bracket strapping is a nice thing but to me it's more important that it looks right from the outside and your chest and abdomen should definitely be closer together, so I would suggest using elastic and glue in some snaps. The hip ammobelt should be positioned a little lower. The diamond shaped sniper knee seems to be a little too thick, sand it down some more. Maybe you could also try to push down the shins a little further to allow you a wider range of movement at the knees. Cheers mate
  21. Hey mate, we assume that this so-called coffee spot is actually some left over glue/sticker residue from a sticker that was on the motoX chest protector. There isn't an exact size, it just has to look right and not too solid.
