  1. Scott Harwin requesting Sandtrooper access. TD-93110. Link: http://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=21233
  2. Can anyone post some font and sideview pics of their TD kneeplate? I'm getting ready to attach mine but would love some comparisons.
  3. That settles it then. 3 buttons it is!
  4. I'm converting a TK over to a TD. I have the 3 and 4 button plate. Which is more accurate for a Sandy?
  5. TI-93110 unable to post replies to certain topics (Supply Depot pages). Is my access somehow restricted? Thanks.
  6. I'm told it's an modified EFX helmet with ATA ears. Sorry I didn't put that in the original post. By trimming, do you mean it looks a little gappy next to the body of the helmet?
  7. Greetings Troopers! I found a helmet which another trooper is selling but wanted the opinion of the professionals. I think it looks great but will it pass 501st standards? Police Officer standards? Thanks, Scott PS. I can only seem to upload 180KB of photos between all my posts. Any advise on how to upload more without making each picture thumbnail size?
  8. Thanks for the info. Do you like the Anovos helmets? What's your opinion about the funky belt on this old FX kit? Junk it also and get a new one with an actual pleather strap in back?
  9. Hello fellow troopers! A friend of mine gave me an ABS Stormtrooper costume which he had displayed on a mannequin next to a sunny window. Long story short, it's got some serious yellowing on areas of the armor. It's destiny is to become a Sandtrooper to cover up the yellowing. Besides, Sandies look way cooler than those shiny TK's. I stripped off all the old Velcro and cleaned up the gooey stuff it left behind. The costume needs some major love and I'm reaching out to the professionals to see if it's 501st worthy. I'm not sure of the maker as there is no mention in the instruction book. Can anyone figure out the maker based on the attached pics? Here are some other concerns: 1. The belt is solid ABS (no leather around the back) and permanently attached to the 'abdominal plate' by screws. The back of the solid ABS belt wraps around the rear and fastens by Velcro. What say the TD's to this setup? 2. Buttons on ab plate need to go but what do I fill holes with? 3. Can anyone breakdown the required helmet changes needed? (new lenses, new tear decals, blue lines, etc.) 4. The black forehead strip is that squishy insulation strip one installs around exterior doors. Is that normal? 4. What's the best solution for installing a hard hat liner? 5. Kindey and butt plate are one piece. Is that OK? 6. Calf and thigh armor corners don't line up properly. File it down? WOW! That was a lot. I'm well versed in the ways of TIE Fighter but lacking on TK/TD builds What say the pros to my inherited armor? Thanks in advance. -Scott
  10. Hello fellow troopers! I just got into the 501st last month as a TIE Fighter Pilot. Well....on to the next costume I suppose. A friend of mine gave me an ABS Stormtrooper costume which he had displayed on a mannequin next to a sunny window. Long story short, it's got some serious yellowing on areas of the armor. I think it's destined to become a Sandtrooper to cover up the yellowing. Besides, Sandtroopers look way cooler than Stormtroopers anyways, agreed? The costume needs some major love and I'll need some counseling on the assembly. I'm not sure who the maker is as there is no mention in the instruction book (that must mean it's not Rubies...yay!). I attached a couple of pics from the booklet. Can anyone figure out the costume maker? Also, the belt seems a little iffy. It is solid ABS (not leather in the back) and attached to the 'abdominal plate' by screws. The back of the ABS belt wraps around the back and attaches with Velcro (see pic #2). What say the professionals to this? Is it even 501st worthy? Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks fellow troopers. -Scott
