  1. Help promote the MEPD!

Troopers, due to an increase in Rebel activity, the MEPD is up to its green lenses with paperwork...we need your help. Our propaganda minister is looking for recruitment material that can be broadcast on social media. With your help, we can promote the MEPD, help others join the elite force that makes us what we are, and most importantly, put down the Rebels forever. We do get some great photos in the troop logs, however, this central location will make it easier to identify social media worthy material. We are looking for any cool photos of you decked out in your dirty armor that are: -funny -in a cool location -groups of Sandtroopers -anything you think that would make a good social media post Please include: -your TD ID# -a good caption for your post! -(optional) your Instagram account name so we can tag you! (Thank you for the recommendation HenselMonster) I know it probably goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway. Let's keep it tasteful, and try to avoid any fan faces in the photos. Some folks may not want their photos broadcast across the galaxy. So troopers, hit us up with your best social media photos here! We'll do our best to get them on Facebook and Instagram. Thank you for your assistance. Through the sand and blood, we protect with honor and serve with pride!
  2. Hasboro Toy Shop - Sandtrooper and Dewback Black Series

The things we do for screen accuracy...I had to paint that pauldron white. This trooper's head was a lot more difficult to remove from the body than my other troopers. If you do try to paint the pauldron, use caution when removing this little guy's head. Its so GRAY Used some masking tape and HandiTak to mask the pauldron: Used a few light coats of flat white primer: Cleaned up the edges with a toothpick: Used some Tamiya Weathering Master pastels that I use for plastic aircraft modeling, I also weathered the orange pauldron, it was too clean. Now everyone is happy!
  3. Hasboro Toy Shop - Sandtrooper and Dewback Black Series

I picked mine up on Amazon a few days ago: https://amzn.to/2juXq5a This is a great piece. The dewback is very detailed...and heavy. Articulated too. I'm very happy with it. I was never able to get the orange pauldron trooper, so I bought 2 black pauldron troopers and airbrushed one of them. I plan on doing the same with the gray pauldron...making it white and then weathering it a bit. I used some masking tape and handi-tak to mask the pauldron: I "primed" it with flat black spray, and then hit it with orange acrylic through an airbrush. There's no way the acrylic would bite into that smooth plastic, flat enamel/primer was a must.
  4. Tapatalk problem ?

Hello fellow Troopers, I believe Tapatalk is back online. Please give it a test when time permits. I was able to access MEPD from Taptalk on my mobile device. Let me know if you experience any issues. MANY thanks for your patience, I know this has been a very long wait.

I do see that DirtyDave is out of storage space:
  6. PMs not showing up

Anyone else having an issue posting forum replies? I am using Chrome on a Windows workstation, I clicked reply, typed this message, and submit reply. It seems to be working.
  7. TD-30571 "bigwams" Tour of Duty

Lookin' good Thomas! Love the birthday party pic. Glad you are recruiting them young! Nice job.
  8. HappyTrooper's Mission Journal

This thread details the adventures and travels of HappyTrooper (TD-10900) while proudly serving with the Mos Eisley Police Department. My first 501st Legion costume was Sandtrooper armor, I was approved on April 18th, 2016. The following photos were taken on location with the men and women of the 501st Legion. All suspects are guilty until proven innocent.
  9. Tapatalk problem ?

We haven't forgotten about Tapatalk Elections are over, and we have the new app installed on our forums. Mon Mothma put it best: "it is not yet operational." We are trying to track down some important info to get it back online. I'll update once it is ready. Thank you for your continued patience.
  10. HappyTrooper's Mission Journal

We had so much fun at the last Blue & Gold Banquet, we joined another group of Cub Scouts in the area just a few weeks later. On February 23rd, Garrison Tyranus did some heavy recruiting at this event.
  11. HappyTrooper's Mission Journal

On February 11th, 2018, our Garrison was invited to attend a Blue & Gold Banquet for the Cub Scouts in Leesburg. They had a Star Wars theme for the evening. The banquet was kicked off with the Imperial March, and we led the Scouts to the stage for the flag ceremony. Later, we got to join these future recruits for some chow in the mess hall.
  12. Frustrating experience trying to buy materials for this pack

It is a scavenger hunt for sure. I may be a little out of date here...Airborne, correct me if I'm wrong...Gordonator may still be selling those cisterns. I have one, it looks great, and its been going strong for 2 years. Also Crashmann (Charlie) offers a bunch of parts. Here is a link to all of the parts that he offers. http://tk386.com/sandtrooper_backpack_kit/
  13. BAck pack shoulder straps.

I use these straps on my pack: http://amzn.to/2CrPehN

  17. Hello Troopers, My apologies for the short notice. This evening (January 17th) at 8PM Eastern Time, the MEPD forums will be going down for a brief maintenance window. We expect the maintenance to take 1 hour. Please use this downtime to remove any sand/debris from your weapons & field packs. Thank you, Damon
  18. Site Maintenance to be performed: January 17th, 2018 @ 8PM ET

As we all know, Taptalk has stopped working since the upgrade of the site. Eric (DarthAloha) has tried to work some magic behind the scenes but to no avail. I have disabled the Tapatalk app/plugin and it may seem that "submit reply" is now working on forums and messages? Prior to this, when I clicked "submit reply" on a forum or on a private message, my message would actually post, but you wouldn't know because the message was still sitting there. I would click submit reply a 2nd time and it would double post. We'll have to table the Tapatalk issue and try to get the forum back to working order.
  19. Site Maintenance to be performed: January 17th, 2018 @ 8PM ET

Maintenance complete, however, we are experiencing an issue with Tapatalk. Will let you know once it is resolved.
  20. Shoulder pouch issue

Not sure if this will help your ammo pack from folding...do your rear-facing securing loops on the ammo pouch run diagonally? I have a snap on my alice pack strap that secures the ammo pouch. Here is a photo of the snap on the alice strap. This is simply a piece of 1" nylon strapping, with a single snap, hand-sewn onto the alice pack strap. I have an Anovos kit, I didn't use their strapping, so I had some leftover. As you can see, this one has velcro (not used). Like a Jawa, I recycled I can slide my alice pack strap through both ammo pack loops. Then I just use the snap that was sewn onto the alice pack strap to secure the top ammo pack loop. As you can see, the loops on the ammo pack run diagonally, so my ammo pack can't fold. Are you utilizing both loops from your ammo pack? If you are only using one, it could cause that folding problem.

  25. HappyTrooper's Mission Journal

On July 15th, 2017, Garrison Tyranus was invited to a Star Wars style birthday party. The young man celebrating has been battling cancer. The day started off a little rainy, but once all of his friends arrived (and the video game truck), the sun popped out and we were able to have a great outdoor party. The young man, who turned 6, is now in remission!
