  1. Use a small bolt or screw and either use a small nut inside the tube (which will be invisible when its sealed shut by the end cap), or do the reverse and set the bolt inside the tube with glue and use the nut on the outside of the mount. I am not a fan of the zip tie idea either. Not sure how "approved" this idea is, but i have used it on both packs i have built and its not even noticeable unless you are looking for it.
  2. I use MonCal for all my parts. Very accurate and US vendor.
  3. I have photos of the canteen if needed. It measures 6" top to bottom of the body. 2" from body to cap top. 6" wide. 4 1/2" deep.
  4. this weathering looks great. i like the difference in muck from the ad to the chest to the legs.. i think the different grades of dirty make it look more realistic.
  5. i like this weathering.. looks dirty but not too overdone. nice
  6. how much longer is the K frame than the seed trays up top? If its significant i could see bending the frame to round off the corners. It looks to me that the frame in the shots is rounded right at the top of the trays and it doesn't stick up above that line.. is that what you see? To me the K frame looks a bit taller than this.. more than 20 inches or so, but i can't be sure with the pics as i have seen of it so far. I could see rounding the frame to fit the seed trays. it looks like that is what was done, at least on this pack. I am not sure it was done on all the packs for the production. I could swear i have seen shots where the frame top was left capped and straight but it could be that a shorter frame was used for that as well. They could have had a couple different frames or even a couple different models of K frames they used.. if they just used what was available.
  7. they look a lot like RCA jacks to me. they don't resemble poppers. Its already got a strap mount on the top so i don't see why there would be another one of a different kind on the middle of the box.. let alone 2 separate ones right next to each other.
  8. I'll take a set of boxes. I will send payment Friday.
  9. i tracked down 2 project boxes at a small town radio shack here in Colorado... had to drive an hour to pick them up but they are getting scarce. I did some calling and found this store that had 2, apparently the only 2 they had ever ordered, and i got them for pretty cheap. Radio Shack did tell me that the project boxes have not been made for a long time and most stores have had no stock of them for several months. They said once they sell out they will be out and did not expect any new ones to be made for the short term. Radio Shack does not have a supplier at the current time so they are not making new project boxes, or any other Shack designed items for that matter.
  10. interested in 2 if you find any.
  11. love to find one if possible. Let us know what happens! Otherwise i will keep looking for something compatible.
