  1. Welcome, I'm excited to see an ANOVOS build
  2. Congrats on the kit, hope to see you approved soon!
  3. Here are some pictures of my Hyperfirm B-grade E-11 that I weathered. Not that it didn’t come with some weathering to begin with, but I wanted the weathering to stand out a bit more in pictures than what it was. The detail is so good on the Hyperfirm that I wanted it showcased in pictures. I dry-brushed some acrylic gunmetal grey paint on the areas that already had some weathering to make it stand out a bit more and then added it around where I thought it would look good. I’m pretty happy with the results. Also, the d-ring on the back is homemade using a coat hanger, thus its irregular shape as I used pliers and a bit of elbow grease to bend it into shape.
  4. I bought mine from blaster8266 here on the forums. Excellent quality and I'm in the process of buying another one from him.
  5. Welcome. There are also a ton of ANOVOS builds over at whitearmor.net that might be able to give you some guidance.
  6. The links that are shown over at whitearmor are pretty good. I got an AM kit that came with the ab sections, sniper plates, etc. for both a sandtrooper and a regular stormtrooper. You just need to make sure that the kit you order comes with these pieces and you should be fine. I also know that you can buy the needed pieces from other vendors, so there are plenty of options.
  7. On a similar note, maybe a really quick focus on what changes need to be made for any newcomer who bought an ANOVOS kit and would like to change it into a TD. And maybe a reference for where they can find pouches, pauldron, etc. here on the site.
  8. I would do both. The more eyes you can get watching your build the better advice you'll get when you need it.
  9. I think the previous comment was spot on. There are enough difference between a regular TK and a sandtrooper that you need to pick one or the other. It will really influence how you complete your build. That being said, I have an AM kit and I love it. I think you'll be very happy with it. Below are a few builds and resources that I found very, very useful. Good luck on your build! http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/32531-navajo-bros-am-20-stunt-build/ http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31920-ukswraths-am-10-ata-bucket-build/ http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/28321-sure-fire-am-20-shin-identification/ http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/16608-am-armor-shins-the-proper-way-to-assemble-and-wear/
  10. One more follow up question on this topic - can you suit up with the backpack by yourself? I've been to a few troops where I've had to suit up all by myself and I'm worried I won't be able to with a pack. I guess I just want to know I can suit up myself with a pack if needed.
  11. So here's another question since the major con is the weight - what does your BFG weigh? Maybe we can get an average for all of the different BFGs.
  12. Welcome Asher. Start here - http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/
  13. While I wait for funds to construct my BFG, my Christmas present was a Hyperfirm B-grade. I love how light it is and the durability. What I want to do is add some paint to it so it stands out a bit more in pictures. You know, make it look just that much better and realistic. My initial thought was to use acrylic paint in gunmetal gray or a similar color like aluminum and then dry brush it all over. I've looked through some of the threads here but some are so old that the picture links no longer work. Any suggestions or other ideas on this would be much appreciated!
  14. Welcome Marco! Good luck on the new helmet.
  15. Thanks for the replies everyone! Very informative. I bought an E-11 Hyperfirm B-grade right before the premiere because I wanted a blaster to help complete the look and I figured it would be easier to use in big crowds (such as the crowded movie theater). I also talked my wife into making it my early Christmas present! And even though I love my E-11, I just can't stop thinking about the BFGs. That is one of the main reasons I built a sandtrooper is because I love the look of the backpack, pauldron, pouches, and BFG. I'm debating between a T-21 and DLT-19. From reading through the various threads both here and on whitearmor I think I'm leaning towards the T-21 because I think it will be a tiny bit easier to assemble, especially with my limited skills in woodworking for the stock and bolt assembly.
  16. I meant why did you choose, for example, a T-21 over a DLT-19 or vice versa?
  17. Let me ask this question - what does this thing weigh? Helps to know how long on a troop I might be able to use this. Excellent build by the way!
