  1. Yeah, if you check the reference pic the gap should be just a bit larger.
  2. Hi Roger, I've made a comparison for you which makes it easier to see/compare: It may look like a lot but those are more or less easy fixes. You've already mastered the more difficult part as eg the direction of the mic tips. I think it took me 3 or 4 attemps until I got those halfway right with my bucket ;-) Cheers
  3. Hi Roger, thank you for your application and your patience. Your gear looks great so far and I can tell you've done your research I don't mean to anticipate Felice's evaluation but here are a couple of things that stick out for me: - The gap between the upper armor and the shoulder bells is too wide. This is probably a combination of both the upper chest armor and the shoulder bells being too small for your frame. - Helmet: The weathering below your left eye (when your looking at the helmet) needs to be cut back a little. Also there's a gap between the helmet and the left ear (again when you're looking at it) - The "coffee staint" on the pauldron is a bit too heavy but that's probably an easy fix Good luck, bro!
  4. Off to a great start! This could have been the ideal addition to Gordo's Syphon if only they would be around for much longer.
  5. Yeah, great idea - sounds like a job for our newfound armory team ;-)
  6. Great pictures bro and congrats on your engagement - you guys look great together!
  7. Nice collection, bro! I also have an ANH Vader (and a bikerscout). Is that an SPFX set?
  8. All requests have been granted and the profiles updated - Welcome to the MEPD, Troops! Sascha, nice to see you here, bro!
  9. Congratulations, bro! Thanks for an inspiring and clean race.
  10. Yes, you are right, I should have been more specific This is re trying to move some posts: I first started another thread in the MEDP Feedback section under New rank badges for the MEPD I checked a number of boxes of individual posts on this thread here Then I went to the bottom of the page and clicked "Moderation Actions" and "Move" There it stopped because it only allowed me to select sections but no threads within that section. The other issue seems to be fixed now. I just deleted my original thread with the title "New rank badges for the MEPD".
  11. Sounds great! @DarthAloha: I've tried to move the posts about the rank badges to a separate thread but it only allows me to select a section not individual threads. Any ideas how to make this work? One other point about the rank badges: Would it be possible to move the number of posts to the bottom? Also when I tried to delete the new thread I got this error message: Thanks for your help!
  12. Cool, bro! Looking forward to see what you come up with
  13. Great, thx a bunch Eric! Any idea why our rank badges below our profile pic don't show?
  14. Hey Jason, thanks for volunteering - appreciate it, bro! The bottle neck atm are not enough ressources but for our 501st IT support to find the time to set up a development server. But I'm happy to take you up on your offer once we got the server sorted out.
  15. yeah, those types are much more frequent but it's way smaller than the Sonix.
  16. The best way for me is to attach (screw) zip tie anchors to the top and bottom of the tube and attach them to the frame with zip ties.
  17. Thx, bro. Well, I think I might do an interest thread on all the parts I'm making for my pack and if demand is high enough I would do a run on those parts. But first I have to find the time to finish it
  18. Thanks, guys! @Airborne Trooper: My plan is first to finish this build and to confirm the hypotheses on the measures. After that we can speak about doing a run for those parts
  19. It's just a bit over a year that has passed since my last pack build but boy, this year has seen quite a bit of new discoveries. I felt it is time to build a new pack, the move along this time, and to try to incorporate those new discoveries. So let's do it First thing for me was the backpack frame. Now we all now it's "The" vintage Karrimor frame. But is there really just one model? I was lucky enough to come across an old boyscout from the UK who happended to have a nice collection of frames up in his attic so I persuaded him to sell his "collection" to me. I found that they did not only come in different lenghts but also with different thickness of the bars. After some eyeballing and photoshop scaling I found that 0,76 inches (diameter of the bar) looked right: Again, after doing some measuring I found that the pack should actually be a little shorter than the ones build during the last year. My last pack had a lenght of about 60cm but 45cm looks more like it. The next challenge was to find appropriate seed trays. After spending quite a bit of time on ebay I actually found them; real vintage seed trays that not even look like the ones used for the original packs but also have the correct dimensions. They only had the 3 rib ones but afaik the only pack that actually comes with a bottom seed tray that has 5 ribs is the move along pack. But since I planned to do the move along pack, some modding was in order: The upper seed trays are no finished yet (still need to fill the holes) but this is what they currently look like: For the radio I was not lucky enough to snag one on ebay so I decided to model one with the correct dims and details with a help of fellow Sandie (Thanks, Redbeard!). The radio holders on the side are actually cast from originals Below you can see a comparison shot with a found radio: Some other original parts I will use are the Shires syphon, a Gio Style canteen flask and the 4" tupperware lid. IMO the (wet wipe) bottles have a larger diameter than the ones frequently used. By my estimate they should be in the 9,5-10cm range. I'm using a 1,5L shampoo bottle. The lenght will definitively need to be reduced but I'll do that when I had the chance to do some test fitting together with the other parts. However, since none of the mushroom caps currently offered are wide enough, I asked Redbeard again to help me model and print it in 3D which I usedd as a base for my mold. EDIT: During my build I discovered that they've indeed used a rubber plunger for the "mushroom cap" (link provided in the thread). I vac formed them in black ABS (along with the exhaust port): That's all for the moment, hope you guys like it so far
  20. Congrat, Martin and welcome to the sandpit! Love those pouches - authentic wien stollas, right? Cheers
  21. I have only found the 3 ribs type but frankly the only pack that had the 5 ribs one for the lower trays was the move along trooper. All others had the 3 rib type for top and bottom seed trays. No, at the moment I don't plan doing any sales offerings. But let's see. I've also made a new and more accurate mold for the exhaust port and for the mushroom caps. I'll show it when I do my WIP ;-)
  22. The dimensions are a bit different compared to the trays currently made. I was going to show everything in a WIP for my new backpack but other projects have interfered so far. But I'll start it definitively in the next couple of months.
  23. Hey Bulldog, thanks for your efforts on this. To be honest I think casting this thing correctly and with a minimum weight is firstly quite complicated and secondly very expensive. By my estimate you would at least charge 100 usd per syphon to break even. And you have the risk that is doesn't work at all. Moreover, I don't think there would be much demand at that price and I'm lacking the fantasy how it could be done much cheaper or easier. Btw, after having discovered some correct vintage seed trays I also think the smaller syphon is a better fit. Cheers
  24. I got this from a magazine which contained a lot of good pics from R1. I don't recall seeing this in the movie but I will watch out for it the next time I'm not a big fan of the new TK armor but those packs do look kinda cool. Would definitively be a great addition to our detachment.
