  1. Killed it dude! Send over those pics (minus blaster) and we can get started on the new CRL! PM incoming
  2. Yes sadly pages have disappeared when we move services and we have been set back, we are working on getting this updated soon!
  3. Started priming and painting with the Tamiya Ghost Grey. This color is feeling pretty close
  4. One last look at my unmodded, un painted parts....for some reason I will miss it like this lol. Also working on the bend, its not quite where I want it still adjusting hah
  5. Ok getting back into this! Found some vintage trays on the site that will not be named. One arrived cracked sadly but I can make due. I will probably repair that one and add the 5 ridges to it. But I tested another vaccuformed tray I already have, and it is a perfect fit, maybe I will use this as my 5 ridge box? Maybe? I don't know I'm on the fence.
  6. Looking great! By the way, what was your method of bending the frame? I'm about to bend mine and just want to see what people have done.
  7. I was going though some promo shots a buddy sent me and I noticed this on the move along. That looks like a small Spanish pouch to me. They must have changed his belt during the different takes. Apologies if someone else made this observation before, but it was interesting to me!
  8. That’s a good idea! I may just do that. Saves me some modeling time! Lol
  9. I came across this radio a while back, it was from around the same era as the Sonix we know and love, made in 1976 in Hong Kong. It doesn't look much like a Sonix on the front but the rest of it looks pretty familiar! Unfortunately this isn't exactly the same size as a sonix, other wise I would get a cast of the radio face and make my life a lot easier. So like a crazy person I'm going to model a sonix faceplate myself to make it fit. You can see the size difference here. They are almost exactly the same width and depth, but its just a little shorter sadly (sitting next to my woodman radio). I started the deign in illustrator and ill use this a basis while I model in fusion 360. I'm still pretty green when it comes to modeling, so it will take a while. Plus I have like 40 other projects I'm doing right now as well lol. The end goal is to convert this DYN radio into a working Sonix replica. Should be fun!
  10. For those interested, I'm selling my spare kit in the for sale section. I was going to build two packs, but its just taking up too much space and I don't have the time. Don't worry I'm still doing this build with my other parts, I may have sourced some vintage trays too!
  11. Not too much, maybe less dirt, lol. I think these could be combined into one CRL personally.
  12. Based on the new rules established by our command staff and FISD command, HWT is grandfathered in to FISD, all other similar troopers would go to MEPD. So troopers who pack heavy weapons, packs, pauldrons and other gear goes to MEPD now.
  13. Legion elections are upon us. That's right. Everyone's favorite time of year is back again for 2019. In February, every member of the 501st has the opportunity to exercise their Imperial democratic right to choose their leaders, at both the local and the global level. You will be able to vote for Legion Commanding Officer, Garrison Commanding Officer (or Outpost Leader), and - where you are registered and active in one or more Detachments - for the respective Detachment Leaders. Eligibility for Detachment electoral processes requires an approved affiliation with the Detachment as well as an active registered account on the Detachment forum that has logged in within the past year. Where you are a member of a Squad, you would also be able to vote for the Squad Leader. The schedule of the 2019 election is as follows: Nominations Start: Saturday Feb 2nd @ 12:01AM GMT Q&A Starts: Thursday Feb 7th @ 12:01AM GMT Closing Statements Start: Tuesday Feb 12th @ 12:01AM GMT Voting Starts: Wednesday Feb 13th @ 12:01AM GMT Voting Ends: Sunday Feb 17th @ 11:59PM GMT The remainder of the month is reserved for transitioning between administrations. Elected candidates will take office at 12:01am GMT on March 1st. All nominations and voting will occur in the 501st Legion Elections portal here: https://www.501st.com/elections/ If you have any problems with the system, write to elections@501st.com * * * * * Some things to note: 1. Ever since 2016, we have been using a Single Transferable Vote format for all 501st elections to ensure that we have majority support for each winning officer. Details about the new format can be found here: https://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=211&t=101674 2. The membership databases will be locked down during the election period to prevent the adding of new members or change in activity status. These additions and status changes require intervention by Legion Command. However, GMLs can still add new costumes to the profiles of existing members. 3. Per the Operations Protocol: “Notification of any elections to individual members is ultimately the job of Garrison and Outpost Commanding Officers for members in their region, and Detachment Leaders for members in their Detachments.” Therefore, please check with your relevant leadership to ensure your unit is ready for elections. This includes ensuring members have access to the main Legion forum. 4. All nominations and voting will take place on the main Legion forum. Where any elected office is contested, the Q&A will take place on that unit’s forum. For the Legion Commanding Officer elections, this means the main Legion forum. However, should any Garrison, Outpost, Squad or Detachment have contested positions within them, their leadership (in the case of Squads, the Garrison leadership) should ensure a neutral space for forum Q&A, including limiting access to members with Active status, akin to what is being prepared on the main Legion forum. If you require help in this regard, please email elections@501st.com as soon as possible. 5. Please also read up on the guidance material available in the 2019 elections section. These rules and guidelines apply to all Legion Elections, from LCO, to all individual units: - Moderator Introductions and Recusals (https://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=211&t=101665) - Rules and Reminders (https://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=211&t=101666) - Social Media and Harassment (https://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=211&t=101667) - Timeframe (https://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=211&t=101672) - Procedural and Technical Issues (https://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=211&t=101673) - PINs, Voting Method and FAQs (https://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=211&t=101674) Please note that ignorance of the above rules will not be considered an excuse when dealing with reported issues. When in doubt, please email the Election Moderation Team, at elections@501st.com Cheers and Regards The 2019 Election Moderation Team
  14. It’s a deployed trooper with a pauldron and pack, looks like MEPD to me! Lol
  15. Its a beauty. Wish I had that much stuffed in my mattress lol.
  16. Yea, its slowed quite a bit. Need to replenish the posting queue and we will be back in action. Troops send over your photos and we can feature them on Insta!
  17. To be fair a Sonix also sold for only $200 back in April and $700 before that. Soooo I’d say the price is realative. I’ll just keep holding out for a miracle in an antique shop somewhere lol.
  18. Well known recaster. And from what I understand the armor they produce is basically garbage. It is a matte finish ultra thin styrene.
