  1. - From the Desk of the D.L. - Meet the Command Staff - CRL changes (proposed) Hello to my Dirty Brothers and Sisters, I am hoping to bring this tradition back this year. I love our newsletter as it is where I got my start on the MEPD command staff. If anyone has an idea or topic they would like for us to cover here in future issues, please message me. Also, if you have a submission for the newsletter, we are open to others sharing their work. The MEPD is also in need of a new Merchandising Officer. Our new PRO is Darth Mout. Our former PRO, Quinnzelle, has moved to the newly created Detachment Diversity Officer Position. The Legion has also added 2 additional detachment positions this year, Detachment Archivist and Historian and Detachment Costume Advisor. If you, or anyone you know, would be interested in stepping up and joining the MEPD Command Staff PM me for a discussion. I appreciate everyone trusting me with another year as Detachment Leader and I look forward to a great year. It seems that troops are starting to come back even more this year. We are seeing a gradual improvement each year as we move farther away from 2020. Stay Dirty, Punisha Quinn Brown (SandEEQuiNN) TD-91197 Detachment Diversity Officer Former PRO Hello MEPD, I wanted to take a little time to introduce myself and tell you a little about me. I am a single mom of a wonderful 12-year-old daughter, who is a Sandy in the Galactic Academy. I was born just outside of Philadelphia. I grew up in Pennsylvania and Florida. I now live outside of Richmond, Virginia. I work as a sushi chef. In 2014, I met our DL, Punisha, at a convention and saw how cool the 501st costumes were in person. I first joined as Asajj Ventress, which I hand-sewed. My second costume was the Sandtrooper. I am the local Rebel Legion Base CO and XO of my local Squad. I am happy to be a part of the greatest Detachment in the Legion. Quinn Brown (SandEEQuiNN) I know we started this topic on the forums already, but I felt this would give it more attention and more eyes on the topic. I have revised my original post here to include ideas and additions already shared with me on the CRL updates thread here in these forums. If you have ideas to add to this discussion, go here: https://forum.mepd.net/index.php?/topic/18089-things-id-like-to-change-this-year/ I would like to make a couple of changes to the existing CRL. I am interested in your thoughts. As always, this will not affect those already approved. You are grandfathered in. This would only be for new applicants. Currently, the CRL reads, “For basic approval ribbed shoulder straps are acceptable but discouraged.” I would like to remove the ribbed shoulders option, as only special edition troopers have those and that is a separate CRL in progress. I would like the CRL to read, “TK style ribbed shoulders are not acceptable.” The next change is a similar change in thought. The current CRL reads, “Left side Abdomen Armor has a minimum of three, and maximum of four painted white buttons.” I would like the CRL to read, “Left side Abdomen Armor has three white buttons." (Credit to BadBatch for the edit) BigWam and Airbourne trooper also added these ideas. The first involved the helmet lenses. The current CRL reads that helmet lenses are “flat green or smoke.” The change would read that helmet lenses are “flat green.” Their next idea was to remove the shoulder pouch requirement when not wearing a backpack. The current CRL says “Black in color, made of canvas, leather or leatherlike German MP-40 style ammo pouches.” The change would read, “Black in color, made of canvas German style MP-40 pouch or leather or leather like Stolla Wien ammo pouch. If you do not wear a backpack, you do not need the shoulder pouch.”
  2. I got mine from Intergalactic Supply
  3. I am not familiar with a list of found parts. My pack is from CrookKnight. He is closed and sold all of his pack stuff to Dave' s Darkside Depot. The pack I have is 3D printed. My pack has elastic straps to hold it in place. the straps are hidden by the pauldron and armor mostly and blends with the undercut. As for the weathering, the CRL moderately weathered. I'd interpret the as the weathering should be noticeable but not excessive.
  4. Hello MEPD, I am cross-posting this interest thread for a memorial patch for Terrell Reber, the maker of ATA Works Armor. He was a major part of the costuming supply for our community. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/54402-terrell-reber-supertrooper-ata-memorial-patch-interest-thread/
  5. Thank you all for trusting me with another year as DL for the best Detachment in the Legion. If anyone wants to volunteer for command positions, we have a couple of openings. We need a new MBO for the 2024 year. If you are interested PM me to discuss. We have some merch ideas and are open to new ideas from the new officer. I would like to thank Two-squirrels for the amazing job he did with our merch! 6. There is an MEPD social page that is for members only. That page has a lot more activity
  7. I agreed with Bigwam, my return edge is very thin
  8. You and I have actually talked about this topic on the legion forum. It was also brought to my attention that you posted this to Instagram is well, saying this isn't approvable. This costume is approvable at level 3, SWAT. So, it is in fact approvable. This rule is in place for the very reason you stated in the post. The MEPD does not want to be the place people take old, yellowed TKs without any upgrades. For level one approval, you will need to add pouches and a pauldron. If you wish to approve as a higher level, you will first need to approve to level one and then you will need to pause the film and copy the armor style and weathering pattern exactly to the character you have chosen.
  9. I don't see an issue on my end, you show as active in MEPD. Sometimes, if you haven't been on the forum for a year, the system bumps you from active. Or maybe your GML placed you on reserve or retired. We are locked out of making changes during the election.
  10. Kris the LMO will be in the changing area at 11:15 to start coordinating the detachments for the 501st photo if anyone in MEPD in attendance wants to help him.
  11. On Saturday, April 8 at noon the Legion will be taking the group 501st photo at celebration. If any MEPD members want to stick around afterwards to take a group photo, we will have a time in line after some of the other detachments. The venue is only allowing us to use the stairs until 2 PM. We may need to get our own photographer for the photo. We are 15th in line just after spec ops.

  18. Mike Boyer (CO of Garrison Corellia in West Virginia ) recently lost his house in a fire. Everyone is safe and uninjured (including the pets), but the house was severely damaged. The fire started in the boys' room (they weren't there at the time), so they lost nearly everything. Most of the family's other belongings suffered some type of smoke or water damage. The whole family is involved with the 501st/RL. His home Garrison and Base started a GoFundMe for them. https://www.gofundme.com/f/boyer-family-fire-recovery-aid?utm_source=customer&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_campaign=p_cf+share-flow-1
  19. I am happy to announce that Peter T, 4Runner, has stepped up to become our PR officer.
  20. Happy April Fools Day Dirty Troopers!!!
  21. Hello my Dirty Trooper Brothers and Sisters, This is a momentous and exciting day for all of us. Overwhelmingly, I expect that at this point in time, you truly have no idea as to why it is such an exciting day. Allow me to explain. It is inevitable that we will face change in nearly all areas of our lives eventually. Our costuming hobby is no different. Whether it is new movies, TV shows, or video games which present us with new opportunities, or a bold new idea for an exciting piece of merchandise that excites us, change brings with it a variety of emotions and energy. It is in this spirit of change, excitement, and energy, that this day breaks with new direction for us all. Inspired by the examples presented in the world today, by Disney, LFL, and the 501st Legion as global entities committed to effecting positive change in our world, and in the spirit of unity, camaraderie, and togetherness that we announce a major change in operations for us as members of the Mos Eisley Police Detachment. As we all know – or maybe we don’t, but I will explain – the first scenes ever shot for anything Star Wars were some of those on the desert planet of Tatooine. It was there that the first world of Star Wars came to life for us. As a way to honor the history of the saga that shaped so many of our lives, it has been decided that, effective immediately, the 1st Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment, its CRLs, staff functions, websites, Facebook groups, members, etc are absorbed into the Mos Eisley Police Department. We look forward to serving proudly alongside our shiny comrades in armor and having the opportunity to order new (to us) racing shirts, coins, and patches! With unquestioned loyalty, dirt don’t hurt!
  22. Hello again my fellow MEPD troopers, I am writing to fill the position of Chief PR officer. This person will be in charge of the social media posted for the detachment. This member would be on a rotation to assist in creating posts and announcements on our various social media platforms. This position will require some time commitments to do the duty justice. I ask that anyone interested consider this when offering to help.
