  1. Does anyone use the AKER 1505? I have it. If so do you play your mp3 and use your ICOM out of the AKER or do you have a separate speaker for both the MP3 TD chatter and PTT ICOM? Also where do you hide the AKER 1505...I asked above but did not specify the model I have. Thanks! Darin
  2. Guys, Looking for good spot and system for hiding aker amp along with mp3 of radio chatter. Thinking radio chatter in Crashman pack sonix radio played through an old iPod nano with speaker I have that fits in. Aker in little shoulder pouch. Problem is I think the AKER I have is too large. What size AKER do you all use if in fact that is where you hide your speaker? If not, any thoughts on where to hide the aker speaker? Thanks 😄 Darin
  3. Thanks for the help guys. Moving along made good progress last night. Any solution for the MP40 leather dye seal. Which product to you all believe works best? I looked on the boards and cannot find a definitive or canon answer to attaching pouches to backpack and belt. Did find this answer...seems like it would be a good solution to the belt pouches. To mount the pouch to the waist belt, here is what I did. I removed the angled leather straps by cutting all the thread. I then straightened them out vertically, used a piece of leather under each end, about a 1" square or so, to raise them off the pouch, then put in a rivet at either end, of both straps. This makes just enough room to slide them on the belt and hold them snugly and was a pretty easy way to do it. Been that way for over two years now and still going strong. I can post a pic if the description is unclear. Thanks, Darin
  4. Trooper1, haha..thanks for the reminder and for making me a great pauldron..I know I told him but he snapped pic anyhow. Quick question...anyone have a preference on leather sealer? I have green MP40 pouches dyed but haven't sealed em yet. Thank you, Darin
  5. Hello all, Nearing the end of the build and wanted to know which MP38 MP40 hip pouch was canon? Leather or canvas? One or two for roadblock/"move along"/Captain Should the exposed strapping on the shoulder bells be white or black? Seen both and referenced the captain image here showing white? Thinking it's white but again thought I would ask since I prefer the straps black..think it looks better. What do you all use in the pouches while trooping? Thanks for any and all help. Here is my build so far...bad pics but best I got..Oh and I know the pauldron is on the right...he just threw it on for pics and I told him after the fact. Need to finish crash man pack weathering helmet weathering belt and attach belt attach mp38 mp40 ammo pouch/tool pouch on left shoulder attach hip pouch or pouches if it is in fact two wire ICOM and speaker into crashman pack and bucket install fans Thanks again, Darin
  6. Scootch, Whoa, whoa, whoa! I was thrilled with the bucket. I never said it was yours. I purchased it from another person. I really have no idea if it came from you or elsewhere. I was simply looking for a solution to a potential problem an advisor in my garrison pointed out to me. Hello, I have a CAP bucket and the chin under the mic tips is extremely thin on both sides. I was advised to use rubberized undercoating to solve the problem. It only made things much worse. I was wondering if anyone had any tips or thoughts to correct my mistake. Ugh... Darin I am not sure how you misread this. I am not thrashing mine either. I took care with it and was trying to be even more careful based on what advice I was given. I never pointed fingers and I said it was my mistake. I mentioned your name one time in the thread to thank Smally for the info and that you make them also in case he may not know. That's it. Not intending to trash your stuff or good name. If in fact it was your bucket that I have I was very happy with it and will still be happy with it when the mistake is corrected. Darin
  7. Thanks Smally! I will look up Mike. I think Scootch does the CAP-W too. I appreciate it.
  8. Anyone know of any TD's or TK's selling a complete bucket? My armor is AP. The bucket was CAP.
  9. Rottie, It was an advisor in my Garrison. Once he finds out about it I'm sure he will feel bad but his sad feelings will not fix my **** bucket..haha. I may try the new faceplate...but taking apart the bucket might make things much much worse. /sigh Darin
  10. Not sure if you think Bondo or some sludge built up in the area would help. Other than that I have no ideas. Doesn't have to be perfect "weathered..haha" but if bondo, or sludge doesn't work I may have to hit up MEPD for sale boards for a bucket.
  11. It was thin and I was told to use the undercoating to protect it so it didn't break trooping. Now it is spongy.

  13. I was told the backpack frame scuffs and leaves black marks on the armor if you paint it. Any way to avoid this? Thanks!
  14. Dutchy, Thank you so much! I will contact Scootch right away! Have a great night! Darin
  15. Hello all, Wondering if anyone has any advice on how to fix the ear piece problem on my cap bucket? I purchased the armor from another trooper and he over trimmed the ear piece. I have attached pics to compare the difference. Would it be easier to reach out to the maker to get a new ear piece? Who makes the CAP armor/bucket? If possible can I add little bit of to the end of the incorrect ear? Any thoughts, suggestions would be great. Thank you! Darin
