  1. There are a few of us coming from the Redback Garrison in Australia. We have started planning our trip to the USA. We are starting in New York and finishing in Anaheim for C7. At least 4 of us are staying a month. Would love to catch up with any MEPD members while we are in your great country. I'll check with my wife that this is where we are booked in already.
  2. On the weekend of 26th and 27th October, myself and Oigen from the Redback Garrison in Brisbane, Australia, walked 60K to raise money for The End Women's Cancer fund. We raised over $4,600 and the total was $3.5 million. It was over 2 days and we spent almost 20 hours in our Armour. We camped over night with the other 1,400 walkers. Oigen (TK) looked more like a Sandy by the end of it. The first photo is at the 20K to go sign. I'm on the right, if you hadn't worked it out. The other photo is at the finish line. That's my wife holding the sign. The guy in the background with the camera (Cobra), wrangled the entire distance with us. Again proving, the 501st are awesome.
  3. I also used an old backpack we had at home. The pouch slips over the strap and I have Velcro on the back of the pouch and on my pauldron to stop it from moving.
  4. Thanks guys. As I said, the picture is on the Gold Coast in Queensland. It's was taken while we were trooping at Supanova 2013. I've been meaning to do this for ages but what's my next step in having my armour, and backpack I guess, MEPD approved? You guys rock!! I have Redback Garrison approval of coarse. TD4943.
  5. It would be great if you could visit us down under. The Redback Garrison will certainly look after you. We do have great beaches and great beer. I've been dropping your name around the Garrison, Dirty Boy, to those who want to get backpack kits. We don't have enough Sandys, that's the problem. Everyone wants to be a Clone.
  6. Sorry about the delay in responding again. We been really busy with our Redback Garrison. Just finished Supanova (Comic_Con) on the Gold Coast and Dreamworld is this weekend. I purchased a syphon and Radio dial from Gordon. They are great thanks Gordon. I've finished my backpack, to, I hope, the "road block, move along, pack #3" standard. I wear the orange Captains pauldron. The first attachment is of my backpack. This one is of me on the Gold Coast in Queensland Australia, at Supanova. I missed the turn to Mos Eisley. Hope the links work
  7. Thanks guys and sorry I haven't responded sooner. I've been to busy reading all the posts available on making a backpack. Gordonator sold me the bits I needed. I saw your backpacks, Dirty Boy and they are amazing. The price is even better. I have all the bits I need now and have started assembling. I'll post photos when I'm finished. The amount of information that is available from the MEPD forms is amazing. It's been a big help and the detail you guys go too is incredible. My building a backpack from scratch has created a lot of interest in the Redback Garrison, which I belong to, as well. We don't have many Sandtroopers in our Garrison but if you are going to be the best Star Wars trooper you have to do it right. Thanks for making me feel welcome, Regards, Rubber.
  8. Hello Everyone. My name is Rubber TD 4943 from Brisbane, Australia. I've been reading the forms for awhile and thought it was time to sign up. I'm building my Sandtrooper back pack and I'm having trouble locating the "burger stacker" syphon toilet flushing valve. Can anyone either sell me one or point me in the right direction. Apart from the "tuning dial" on the radio, all the other parts I have. As a plumber, I've bent the PVC tube for the frame without using fittings. Time consuming but looks good. Thanks, Rubber.
