  1. Hey Paul! I am going to trim in the notch.... I did the thighs over a month ago...between then and now...I learned about the notch up at the top. I knew I've seen it before...but didn't realize until recently that it is an essential for all sandys... Yes. Lou did a great job on the lid! I'll Definitely hit you up if I need to. Thanks! I'll be at the Lincoln Park library at the end of the month!
  2. Hello all... I've began my TD build at the end of March. I'm just getting over half way through the armor build so I've decided to create a thread to document my progress. I am shooting for a Sergeant build I can probably use some advice at some point on TD details as I might have to change a few things. I am researching them as I go...so by all means please jump in and yell at me with some knowledge at any point (: Armor - NE (I'm currently in the middle of building) helmet - NE (already built by Darthvoorhees) 3 button ab plate - TM Small Spanish pouches- Anthony/Blaster 8266 MP 40 pouches - military surplus Pauldron - trooperbay Handguards - Karin Belt - trooperbay boots - TK boots Backpack - Quartermaster E-11 - hyper-firm Here are some progress photos some shins My thighs were built already. They are from my TK. When I built my TK last year...I didn't trim the length of them. I also didn't taper them down by the knees at all. They looked ok for a bit but, ultimately I built a new pair trimming them to the proper size..For my TD....I'm reconstructing my old TK thighs and trimming them to the proper length and bringing them in towards the bottom near my knees a bit. Thighs are also of the NE make... here they are before reconstruction reconstruction photos Forearms and biceps belt trimming/prepping Chest - ab - kidney - back trimming 3 button ab plate for left hand side of ab from troopermaster Pouches Helmet built by Darthvoorhees Will update thread as the build goes....
  3. Hello, I signed up on the forum last year and have posted a few times. I don't believe I ever introduced myself here. I am a member of the ECG. I joined the 501st in 2012 as a TK. I am in the middle of my Sandy build so I will be all over this forum for a while. My armor is almost built and I plan on shooting for swat level with it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
  4. Yes. I've seen those shots. I was wondering if there were photos from the shooting troopers also use as reference or anything else besides the screen shots out there. And I kinda figured that mich on the weathering. Thanks so much for the quick response. I've hung around the clean TK world for a bit...... I'm just venturing into the sandy world..and I am very excited about it. I will do more research.....and will probably have more questions as I go.. Thanks..
  5. My armor is almost built. I am starting to research the weathering. 1st question) Before applying the dirt look with whatever materials (acrylic paint/dirt, oil etc) Does anyone scratch their armor up with brillo/light sandpaper to help the weathering cake on in spots? I did it on my incinerator armor for the "battle worn" look ...and it worked out great. I am not sure if it will make the weathering look on a sandy "less-accurate" to the screen look 2nd question) I am going to try to weather my armor to the sergeant alley check V2 trooper look. I've researched screen shots and can't find that particular trooper in the mix. I see the trooper in the crl here http://www.mepd.net/crl/sergeant/ but I want more shots to work off of.....did I miss something in reviewing the screen shots? Does anyone know where I can find more shots of this particular trooper to work off of? Any help/input would be appreciated.
