  1. Hope you don't mind a complete newb joining in with the discussion but I just wanted to say the new UK Garrison logo looks superb. I'm hoping one day when I complete my TD costume I'll be able to wear one with pride within a UK patrol. Over the years I've helped design logo's for various groups I've been involved with and I've always been passionate about flying the Union Flag and incorporating it within the logo design. Personally I'd stick with the correct red, white and blue colours for the Pauldron, it just looks so right. I think any other colour schemes might make it confusing for outsiders looking in and will always need explaining. Vince.
  2. Thanks for your input guys, Galaxy Trading rings a bell, I should still have their catalogue somewhere. I'll dig the back pack out and take some photos of it. I seem to remember that they wouldn't ship the pack to us here in the UK so we had to ask some American friends of my Father if they would accept the delivery and post it on to us. My Father arranged all this as a birthday surprise, I was blown away when I opened the box and saw the pack inside - Happy days. All very dated now but back then it was extremely rare to have a complete costume when the only other helmets available were made by Don Post! Vince.
  3. Thanks guys, I'm really happy to have secured this piece, a few weeks ago I had no idea items of this caliber were being made available, I've still got a lot to catch up with. Neil, that's the one, the vendor's main concern was how the UK customs would react, luckily a similar MG15 was posted to the UK a few days earlier as a 'Star Wars Resin Toy' without problem and this gave the vendor confidence that this shipment might be OK - Thankfully it was. Vince.
  4. Hello fellow Troopers, I'm currently putting together an RS Propmaster TK costume and a Troopermaster TD costume to replace my very old TK & TD costumes, I was wondering with the wealth of knowledge that we currently have here on the MEPD you might be able to help identify my old costumes. I think these date way back to around 1994/95 or maybe even a bit earlier, the armour is fibreglass and extremely well done, maybe an FX recast? These were never made for Trooping, just static display only. The TD pack I got out of a catalogue from an American company, you have to remember this was way before we had things like the Internet to search for such things and there was nothing like the knowledge we have about these costumes now. The helmets I have no idea where I got them from, they aren't too bad compared to some horrors I've seen and are made from vacform plastic, the bubble lenses I think I added at a later date, I reckon these costumes are a good 18 years old or more. Hope you can help? Vince.
  5. Just thought I'd share this with you, new UK member here still hunter gathering parts for my TD build and happy to report this landed on my doorstep about an hour ago from one of the Troopers in the States over on the FISD. We we're intially worried about how UK Customs might react to this thing coming into the Country and the seller was also initially concerend about the shipping something of this size, still 'nothing ventured, nothing gained' so we went for it. Luckily for us it sailed through Customs and thankfully arrived in one piece, very happy with the contruction and level of detail, certainly good enough for my needs. Happy Trooping, Vince.
