  1. Thank you Strider. Originally I started by slush casting but found it inconsistent since I was rotating the molds by hand. I planned on making a rotocasting machine but with no space at home I had to rethink a better way. Slush casting also limited my hopes of making the parts fit together like the original scope parts do. I make a 3 part mold with minimal seem lines. It is easy to use but it took a great deal of trial and error to perfect the molds.......and money. It also takes me a 3-4 days to prep a new mold. The end result is a fairly clean carbon copy of the scope both outside and inside just like the originals. For the light port bulb I do not have a pressure chamber for casting or a vacuum chamber for the silicone mold. So I am left with little choice on making these to spec. Getting them bubble free is tedious work but it pays off. I use a resin that has a pot life of 100 minutes so its easy to take my time. I mix thoroughly for 10 minutes, pour the resin into a tin foil pan and apply a heat gun to the surface to knock out more bubbles, then let it sit for a 5 minutes or so. Pour into molds and then remove the big bubbles with a toothpick. I then check over a 2 hour period for any new bubbles before joining the two mold halves. Then its a 3 day wait to cure! Had 2 successful batches so far.
  2. OMG! My favorite ! I already have a b grade hyperfirm but a cleaner nicer one would be tops! Especially if it has the charging handle, etc. Looking forward to it!
  3. Just thought to post this here if some members here do not venture onto the FISD or RPF forums. Been working on making hollow resin scopes from my collection. Lots of trial and error along the way but starting to get better results. Hoping to use the M38 version on my blaster when I get to that point. Still putting my armor and pack together. Started in March 2016- Recent Castings with Smooth On Onyx- Posted above are test castings of the M19 light port bulb. Hardest part to cast so far but finally reached successful results. Almost no visible bubbles!!!! The M19 is not used on Bapty blasters but thought it might be of some interest for any members who are looking for an M19 for other blasters in their collection. Both the M38 and M19 scope cylinders and all the smaller parts have been molded and casted. Some smaller parts need to be re-molded to get better results but as is, they kit is almost ready. Now in the process of casting and stocking parts to prepare complete kits and still awaiting some screws to arrive. Most of the parts screw together smoothly like the real scopes, some require a bit of sanding and persuasion. Please feel free to add any comments or ask questions if you have any. Thanks for stopping by!
  4. What are the measurements for the brexton box? About 21.5 on the long side? 15cm across? Depth about 7.5 without the lid and 8.5 with it on? Any help is appreciated.
  5. Got measurements from Rolf but could you post your box dimensions? Having a hard time finding the right box on ebay.
  6. Thanks so much for the info. Just ordered one. Still need to get a Brexton container, harder to get at the moment.
  7. Now I know the tool box , what did those mushroom caps come from????? On the edge of my seat...........
  8. Wow! Thanks for sharing the info! I need to get me one of those boxes! Agreed, the larger box has the correct base line on the bottom of the box like the Move Along pack.
  9. I found small shop in Tokyo that sells similar radio antennas like the Sonix had, they extend and pivot half way. The tip might be a bit different. Cost was about $20.00 if I remember correctly. Rolf, very interested in these Brexton boxes. Hope there are more floating around for sale. Do you have measurements for them?
  10. Dying to know !!!! Painfully waiting to hear this!!!
  11. Great. Looking forward to seeing your WIP!
  12. That is great. I have held off buying seed trays as they continue to change in Size with newer develops like the frame size. Can't wait to see your trays. You found both top and bottom variants? Planning to have them replicated for sales? After the trays I am looking to make a more accurate exhaust port part. That could be 3D modeled But i might make it from scratch. i have no skills to 3D model yet or a PC to do it on.LOL! For this syphon though, you might be right about the complexity and hight cost to produce. The gears are turning so maybe I can find a good solution. Not in it for profit, even break even is fine, just want to help others if they want a casted one from an original syphon.
  13. Vintage seed trays? gotta see these. Have any pics? Dimensions to match current trays being made? Very cool. Yeah, I worried after I bought my syphon that O risked it on the smaller one but I did tireless looks at the screenshots and did conclude on the roadblock pack it looks like the shorter version.
  14. I am considering to cast my vintage syphon but it is not a 100% exact match to the screen used ones. It is the shorter version of the two I posted. I believe the shorter one is closer to the screen used ones. The top half & bottom half of the long pipe part are not equal in length. The top half is shorter. This would require a lot of silicone to cast so I am weighing the worth of even trying. Might be a money pit to try. I have a few ideas on casting it to make it close to the actual syphon but would require some time to make the mold as such. If others are interested, I might have a go at this only if there is enough demand.
  15. Sorry I missed the update. Congratulations if you got it. That is great news to hear it will be casted and made available for a reasonable price. That was my deepest concern to have someone buy it then keep it hidden away or make kits at a high price that is out of reach to most. Very excited to see more photos of this beauty and certainly add me to the interest list when you get it going. Cheers!
  16. It would be great if we had some kickstarter thing to generate cash to buy it and make accurate copies as a community effort. Still holding out hope to buy it if a deal could not be made . As Indiana Jones used to say, It belongs in a museum!
  17. Castings would be great but I hope for reasonable price. I hope you guys can acquire it and make it an attainable item for the MEPD community to benefit from so everyone would can get something as close as possible to the real deal. Thanks for posting.
  18. Thanks. Best RT-97C kit I have ever seen!
  19. I hope you will be offering these for a long time. I need to start saving some serious money now. Beautiful!
  20. Spectacular! Will the barrel be part of the kit or something we need buy and drill out the venting holes?
  21. Just curious, who did you buy your seed trays from? Pack is looking really nice!
  22. Nice Pack! Love the radio with red lighting. Interested to see the radio kit if you get them finished.
