  1. Do you think it would be helpful to pin this thread?
  2. You guys think this thread should be stuck? Found it somewhere on pg.2
  3. Thanks guys! Sandman it's in the mail.
  4. I appreciate it so much guys. And Rolf that's awesome man. I had no idea. Look how far we've all come!
  5. Thanks guys! Had a lot of help with this one. I used to think a sandtrooper was just an easy variation of a regular stormtrooper, and while that might be sort of true, once I got into it I realized just how much I underestimated the amount of extra stuff that needed researched etc.. to get right. Respect for all the other sandys out there. Also, I'm really glad that there seems to be a renewed enthusiasm for accuracy around this character.
  6. Also the corner radius on the brexton is much larger than on the original box.
  7. Except that box 2 doesn't have a lip against the lid and the box should most definitely have a lip.
  8. Vader was the first costume I ever tried to replicate. 'Move Along' sandtrooper was the second. So it was EXTREMELY satisfying to finally have one put together that I was happy with after all this time. The morning of the first day of Celebration, I woke up at 4am and weathered the entire suit. And since I had forgotten the paper towels in storage, I had to use hotel room tissues! True story. I want to give a shout of thanks for all the people who helped with one part or another. Strider for his awesome seed trays and karrimore frame, RS for their found item mushroom caps, karrimore pack straps, and fantastic Tunisia E-11 build, and Blaster for his MP40 hip pouch replica. Also thanks for all the support from all the guys here who put up with me while trying to bang this out, Woody, RS, Strider, Rolf looking at you guys. I hope you guys like it as much as I do. Just to show how long I'm been messing with this prop, here's a comp showing the various versions I've made over the years. Back in the 90's the only reference available was a couple promo stills and pausing the VCR! At the time those old packs were made, I hadn't seen anyone else attempt an 'accurate' version of a backpack. Only random tupperware fixed together. .

Still need to make a couple minor tweaks because I ran out of time trying to get him together for the show. 10. Yeah definitely the same pack just at different times w/slightly different configurations. Every time I've seen the toolbox on that pack, it's had a lip though.
  11. Am I missing something? I'm pretty sure that there's only 1 pack like the move along pack (the one with the shotgun shell greeblies). Different people wore it at different times. And when look sir droids wore it, it didn't have the tape on the toolbox or seed trays yet. I don't think either of the two brexton boxes are what was used. At least not either of the two shown side by side.
  12. I'm not so sure tha't the correct box. The raised frame on the screen used is thicker and closer to the edge of the box.
  13. Hey what has everyone been doing for their pack straps? I was thinking about testing out the original karrimor pack straps on my build to see what I think. Does anyone have a spare set of straps from their karrimor frame that I could buy? Don't need the frame, just the straps only. If so just shoot me a pm.
  14. Nah, just been working on a sandy. Hope to be able to show progress soon.
  15. On the original packs, they actually used the screw of the pack frame upper crossbar. They drilled a hole in the opposite side of the tube as an access hole to get the screwdriver in. You can see this access hole in tons of photos if you are looking for it.
  16. This has been going on for weeks, what is taking so long getting this taken care of. It's making the site unusable. Using safari on a mac.
