  1. Nice and subtle, looks good. What paints are you using?
  2. Nice pics. How tall are you Lee? You're towering over those scouts.
  3. Looks like Doopys still does them, but they're just out of stock at the moment. I have a sub assault conversion for my snowtrooper, but you're right, it's not accurate. The shape is totally different. In fact, the only parts that are at all accurate are the conversion parts.
  4. Mirror's Edge was EA too, and that's still an awesome game. Add to that titles like Battlefield 3 and Mass Effect, both of which were massive and well loved, I don't see the problem. And teaming up with DICE again can only be a good thing, again considering Battlefield 3. Can't wait to see more of this.
  5. Yeah, I've been waiting for ROTJ too, but I want that blueprints book sooooooo bad.
  6. As the others have said, the ears are not universal, so a particular set of ears will not fit every helmet. Regarding bumps on the ear caps, I have a VT lid, which I understand is derived from the TE lid which was cast from a screen used helmet. My lid has bumpy ears, so I guess it just depends on the maker.
  7. Wow, look at the calves on that armour! Still, handy for added ventilation in the hot, desert climate.
  8. Congrats Ruggero. The right man for the job.
  9. Can't see the shoulder straps making any difference. A lot of troopers, clean and dirty alike, use elastic and snaps to connect the chest plate to the ab plate. I don't, personally, but I've not had any problem with the ab plate popping out. Like Luis said though, pics would help to make it clear what the problem is.
  10. Haha. Nice! Could definitely do with one of those.
  11. I saw this earlier on Facebook and showed it to my daughter. She said I should make one. I worked out that it would take one person 10 years and 8 months, so I said no. Not sure I could afford the bricks either. Awesome though. Would love to see this for real.
  12. Congrats Darren. Great looking kit. Look forward to trooping with you. Welcome to Brittania Patrol.
  13. Well, looks like - against the odds - my lung has done exactly what was hoped. It fully inflated and, crucially, stayed that way and seems to have adhered to the chest wall. This means I have avoided surgery, which I am pleased about! It also means that the doctor was happy to remove the drainage and discharge me from hosital last Saturday and I'm now chilling at home. I've been signed off work for another week and have a follow up xray in a couple of weeks just to make sure everything is still ok. Thanks for the kind words and support while I was in hospital.
  14. Thanks guys, and thankyou for the advice and pointers I've been given. I couldn't have done it without you.
  15. Isopropyl alcohol or denatured alcohol AKA methylated spirits did a great job at removing the oil-based enamel paint from the ears of my helmet, and it won't damage the plastic.
  16. Thanks for all the support guys. I really means a lot. Not much of an update, but nearer to some sort of conclusion. The last xray showed a more significant improvement than before, but frustratingly not enough to come off suction or have the drain removed, so am having one more xray today and another review. The consultant has said in her opinion, that even if the lung does fully inflate, due to how long it's taking, she doesn't think it will adhere to the chest wall as it needs to, so has referred me to Guy's hospital in London for surgery. Can take a few days to be referred depending on bed availability, so not going anywhere fast. Obviously, if my lung sorts itself out, the referral can be cancelled. We'll see what this morning's xray brings...
  17. Most of my Britannia buddies already know, but I'm in hospital at the moment following a spontaneous pneumothorax and collapsed right lung. Week before last I sat up in bed and got a sharp pain in my chest and difficulty breathing. Felt muscular, rather than heart related and my doctor confirmed my heart was fine and that in his opinion I'd pulled a muscle in my diaphragm and it would get better ny itself. So I went ahead with the Legoland troop the next morning, uch of which involved trudging up and down steep hills in costume. I was more than a little breathless at times, but glad I went as it was an awesome day. Anyway, long story short, it didn't get better so I spoke to my doctor again last Friday and he told me to get to A&E (or ER if you prefer) immediately, where an xray showed a severely collapsed right lung. Whoops. Too much air around the lung to draw out manually, although they did try for a bit, so I currently have a drainage tube in my chest, which today was also attached to a suction system as the problem was not shifting on it's own. The last xray I had showed that the lung is only one third inflated, so if the suction doesn't work it'll mean surgery. I have another xray in the morning so will know more after that. Going stir crazy at the moment. Going into day 4 of being in hospital. Can't wait to get out of here ASAP, but have been lifted by the news that my costume got SWAT clearance, so it's not all bad!
